So far I haven't had any dreams about my teeth or appliances doing anything heinous, but last night I dreamt that I ran into B A Baracus (aka Mr. T) in a dark alley, but then he flashed a big smile so I could see his metal uppers and told me how good my braces looked. I wonder what the dream doctor ...

Okay, no frenectomy here, but I do have ceramics on both. It took a little bit to get used to them, but - and I'm not lying here - I seriously do forget that they're there from time to time. If I really look at them, I feel pretty gunky, but try to be good about my hygiene and trust that it looks ok...

I have to admit that I've been wondering from the get-go why this metal seems to be the opposite of everything I've ever heard about metal. There have even been some discussions at work about it (basically, they think I've been lied to that it is less flexible at warmer temperatures). I just may fol...

When I'm really sore, I just about live off of yogurt, pasta, cottage cheese, tuna salad, soup, and scrambled eggs. And I've lost about 7 pounds since this started. Coincidence? :? I have a friend who swears she ate almost nothing but milkshakes for two years. The hardest part is trying other foods ...

I had an oops just this week. I've had a few extractions and almost all the gaps are closed but two (2 teeth stacked, extractions on either side of those two). The outside tooth has been pulled forward for a while and is almost there, but apparently my root is angled weird. Anyhow, my power chain th...

Big cheesy grin for me! I thought for sure I'd be trying to hide them, but I keep forgetting they're on now and people eventually end up getting my usual big smile anyhow. Besides, having one tooth stacked behind the other, if I open my mouth to show why I got them (can someone explain that question...

White wine?
Thanks everyone for your warm welcome. This is my first forum and it seems I couldn't have found a better place to start! Speaking of things I won't be able to eat . . . I got an early list from my ortho of things to enjoy now before B-day (who woulda thought steak would be a no-no?). Has anyone fou...

Hello fellow brave souls
I'm not braced yet, but have already put in a lot of "work". (That's what they say - I call it lying in a chair while they do the work.) I was one of those bad children who didn't brush nearly enough and quit going to the dentist as soon as possible. For my last birthday, the big 3-0, my b...
