That sounds like what happened to me. I went back in one week and they took the spacers out and put more in for another week. My teeth were so tight they decided to wait 2 weeks before trying to put the metal bands in.

Does anyone know if just plain soda water is bad for braces? ie-Perrier? I drink this a lot and it does not have sugar or sweetners but it is carbonated.

Has anyone here had a gummy smile and did braces help to reduce the gumminess? My ortho said it could help mine some but it make take a periodontist to completely get rid of it. I would appreciate some feedback to see what others have done.

I've never had my jaw lock before but maybe try some gentle massage on the cheeks and jaw even as you gently move it open and closed. Also a heating pad/hot pack on the cheeks and some gentle,small movements. Hope this helps!

Glad to see someone else my age with braces. I get mine in 3 weeks and they are all metal. Also glad to see you can have fun with braces at our age!!

Glad to know that people really don't notice the metal ones. That's what I am getting in 3 weeks. I really don't mind because I am doing it for myself and it is only temporary!
