Thanks for this post. My orthodontist said I will be getting the elastics at my next visit. I've been anxious about it.

I got my braces at 55 and am six months in at this point. I can really see a difference in my teeth -- they look so much better already. My face shape has changed a bit and I'm very pleased with the change.

Hello, and welcome. The absolute worst thing I tried to eat was celery. The strings! It was not a pretty sight.

I've used wax off and on. Right now I'm using it quite a bit. I often forget that I have it in though. I've swallowed so much of it lately, I should categorize wax as a separate food group.

My upper teeth slanted inwards, and my lower teeth were not level, so my mouth looked a bit sunken in, and my smile kind of slanted down to the right. I've had braces since August and started to notice a change in my face about a month later. I'm very happy with it.
