Metal Band Coming Off
Ok world, this is my dilemma. I travel for work. I have been out of state all this week, flying back home late tomorrow night. I leave again Sunday morning and don't return till late next Thursday night. My orthodontist office is closed on Fridays and weekends. This means that I cannot be seen until...

Moving Bands from First Molar to Second Molar
So from looking at the many pictures of teeth and braces, I was under the impression that it was common to have your metal bands placed on the First Molar. I go in 2 weeks from now to have spacers put back in my mouth because the ortho is moving bands to my Second Molar's and putting brackets on the...

Re: Got rubber bands today
I get brackets moved around in 2 weeks and then am getting introduced to the joy of rubber bands.
Now you all have me really excited...or not.

Re: Wire popped out, what do I do??
Annie, I would just call your ortho in the morning. More than likely, I would think they would try to get you in in the next day or two. Good luck!

Re: Appropriateness of Question for Ortho...?
Went in for my adjustment yesterday and good news is, the orthodontist thinks that my treatment time will be closer to 18 months than 24. I have a bit of a crossbite on one side that he had previously thought I would need an expander for. Wonder of wonders, the braces are doing the trick and taking ...

Re: Pressure on one tooth
I have had a few days where I experience uncomfortable pressure on just one tooth in my mouth, usually a canine or a molar. I am equating it to a tooth shifting in my mouth and it usually only lasts for 24 hours. Maybe that's your case?

Re: Appropriateness of Question for Ortho...?
Awesome, thanks for the responses everyone!!! I am kind of working under the assumption that my orthodontist is being as aggressive in treatment as he sees fit. @DrJasonKTam, I especially like your response as I don't want to be making demands and I know I play a role in all of this too. And yes, I ...

Appropriateness of Question for Ortho...?
So I've been in my braces for less than a month and I am already looking forward to the day when these suckers can come off! :D Thankfully, I am fairly used to the braces now and my gums and cheeks are holding up. My first adjustment is 1/30/12 as a few brackets needs to be adjusted that weren't pla...

Re: Smiling Weirdo's Story: Braces at 24-25
Congrats on the braces!
I just got mine on at the age of 23. A 6-8 month treatment time sounds way better than 18-24.

Re: Dom's Story
Domino,
The first couple of days, I sprayed it softly because I didn't want to dislodge the blood clot. Worse than having bad breath and food particles is dry socket. After maybe 5 or 6 days, I just shoot it in now.

Re: Dom's Story
You are lucky you didn't bleed much. I had all 4-1st bicuspids pulled on 1/4/2012. I don't think I stopped bleeding till noon the next day. It wasn't pretty. The whole tooth extraction process took just under 2 hours, and my face felt like a balloon. I'm sure I was a site between being swoll...

I'm excited to start trying colors out on my bottom metal brackets. I'm thinking pink could be a fun first choice.

Re: Braced on 1.5.12
Hey everyone! Yes, the braces are starting to feel better. I decided on Sunday that I needed to man up and stop using wax so that my mouth could get used to the extra bulk inside. So far so good, just a few sores. Yesterday I ended up visiting my orthodontist because I was already missing a clear li...
