Re: Marie is a Metalmouf. Frack.
Some updates. I went to see my ortho a week ago and I got the following. 1) Two sets of power chains. They are set up both on the front and on the back of two teeth that need to be rotated. Ortho says this method will rotate them real quick. 2) Rubber bands! So early right!!?? (only a month in). The...

BTW, to the OP those are not big lips. I look like I'm smuggling a small dog inside my mouth. http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtop ... =9&t=41336

Re: Teeth being moved too quickly?
My teeth were making all sorts of noises in the very beginning and they were also VERY sore. I think it's pretty normal. Now I'm a month in and my teeth feel good and I can eat just about anything.

Re: Appropriateness of Question for Ortho...?
You're paying the money - I don't think there is anything out of the question about what you are asking. The answer might be no, of course.... I just asked the same thing to my ortho the other day. My treatment is 20 months and i have to do a lot of rubber band work due to my crossbite- and since I ...

Re: Marie is a Metalmouf. Frack.
Cool! We're teeth twins, lol. Yeah, PM me a pic, I wanna see. Maybe we can get a two for one with retainers ;) I have all four wisdom teeth, the only tooth I do not have is a premolar on the upper right side (hence all the spacing). I have an overjet in my front four top teeth, but the rest are ok.....

Oh gosh, what wonders do I have to look forward to? I suspect rubber bands eh? Do you have a blog or journal? I'd like to read about your progress....was your midline moved or improved? Do you know what caused yours? Mine is most probably due to a tooth extraction when you. Thanks about the teeth......

Finally, the only upside about having braces. Big ol' lips, lol. Looks like I'm smuggling a bag of rocks in my mouth.

BTW I don't really care about the pain- I am more embarrassed about the aesthetics. I do know everyone is doing their own thing and no one cares I have braces...but I have always been so outwardly focused (something I am trying to work on) that it really bothers me to not feel "pretty."

Dude, your teeth look perfect to me!!! BTW hang in there, looks like your hard work and patience is paying off.
I'm anxious and upset about my teeth too...but seriously we're the only ones that even notice. Everyone is in their own little world.

Re: Anyone Miss their braces? or going to?
@Robot I would be lost without my waterpick- it is actually kind of fun (in a gross way) to use. What I like to do sometimes is to put a little bit of mouthwash into the appliance and then blast my mouth with it, and do the same thing with the tongue cleaning appliance. Sometimes I think my mouth is...

Marie is a Metalmouf. Frack.
Hi all, My name is Marie, 27, and I just got braces a month ago. My case was not really one big dental issue, a million little issues that need to be corrected. I have: slight crossbite slight bottom crowding huge gap on top right area due to missing tooth slightly narrow palate slight overbite over...

Re: relationships\ confidence
I'm self conscious about my braces...Only had them one month. Strangely enough 3 days after getting braced I went to a bar with my husband and some friends, and I was hit by more people than I ever had been in my entire life. Maybe crippling insecurity works for me. My hubby is sweet and he doesn't ...

Re: Anyone Miss their braces? or going to?
I will miss my braces like I would miss a kick to the stomach. As in, not :D Only had them on for 6 weeks and I don't care for them, but alas....have to do it. I have clear Damons on top and normal Damons on bottom. And those stupid glue things on the molars. Sometimes I think it makes me look cute ...

Re: Do I continue with treatment?
Hi, I'm new here but I would say go on with the full treatment. Time passes one way or another and by the time you're done you will be happy you did it. Further, it may prevent problems down the line...imagine if after all that trouble, taking them off early meant you had to redo treatment! By the w...
