Re: Hawley retainers
I have both a top and bottom Hawley retainer that I have worn only at night while I slept for the past 7 years and they've worked perfectly for me. My ortho has praised me numerous times on how well I followed instructions and have been able to maintain my results. So yes they do work but it never ...

Re: List of food that can discolour braces
Only two foods I ate in the entire time I had braces changed the colors of my ligs which were baby pink and baby blue. That was mustard and baby carrots. Though for the record I did tend to prefer bright and darker colors.

Re: My braces are changing colors?
Apparently mustard and carrots also stain the light colors and it doesn't matter how well you brush. That's what happened to mine at least.

Re: 3 days out - bottom arch concerns!
I had a similar issue with a small gap between my top and bottom teeth when I was told we entered finishing details and he asked if I had any concerns I brought that up and he said it was just the shape of that tooth. I'd ask but they look beautiful otherwise.

Re: Do adults teeth fall out of alignment after braces?
I've had my braces off for seven years now and I only wear my retainers six to eight hours a night while I sleep. There really not uncomfortable once you get use to them. My teeth have not shifted at all either but it is for life.

Re: Worse before better?
When I originally went for my consult I thought my top teeth would need little to no work and that the bottom ones only needed to be straightened but I was so wrong and the braces really showed that. Several times during treatment things looked really bad and horrible and then he managed to straigh...

Re: Poll: At What Age Did You Get Your Braces?
I got braces as a freshman in college at the age of 18. We finally had the money and I was finally brave enough to take the plunge. I only regret that I didn't do it earlier.

Re: Sky Wolf's Story
Thank you I want to continue to give insight into my journey as someone who not only went through the treatment but as someone who is able to maintain the results years later. I had my appointment yesterday and I told him that I couldn't deal with my new retainer that I tried but that it was not wor...

Re: Sky Wolf's Story
This year will be year seven since I got my braces off. The last time I checked in my top retainer had snapped and I had a new one made. I was told that it wouldn't be the same as my original and its not even close in reality. I use to wear them religiously but I really can't stand my new top retai...

Re: Sky Wolf's Story
So here, I am today six full years after my braces came off. I have worn them religiously every single night since they came off. I was supposed to go in for a retainer check today but that appointment was cancelled not that it matters really because after having them for six years my top retainer ...

Re: Sky Wolf's Story
So as of April its been 3 years since I got my braces of. My ortho was very impressed with that fact that I still wear my retainers religiously. My results are exactly the same as the day the braces came off. I am still thrilled with my results and I only wear my retainers at night for 5-6 hours wh...

Debanding for me was the easiest process in the world and it took more time finishing paper work and getting the glue off than anything else. My debanding appointment I went in and sat down and the assistant used a special pair of pliers. They just came right off no pressure no pain they just came r...

Today I have been brace free for two entire years. I still have beautiful straight teeth and I still faithfully wear my retainers every single night. I still notice my teeth shift every once in awhile but I know I have the ability to maintain the results. It was so totally worth it to have the perfe...
