Re: I don't know if I should say this but....
So happy for you! I haven't been here for a long time and am so happy to have seen your posting. Reading your posts helped me so much in my first few months. I just finished one year and I turned 57 so you have been a great roll model! Thank you for being so open about your process and feelings. You...

Re: New Waterpik Fun Times
So, I thought I could replace flossing with the Waterpik. Is that not good? Do I still have to floss too? I would ask your ortho to be sure but from my research and experience I don't think the Waterpik can replace flossing. When I floss right after the Waterpik, I am amazed at what is still there ...

Re: Healthy eating tips when teeth hurt?
If you like Mediterranean flavors you will feel healthy and happy eating tabbouleh, hummus, stuffed grape leaves, and I've just added falafel to the list. Quinoa is a great healthy soft source of protein. Pesto sauce and very finely chopped veggies and feta cheese in eggs is excellent- scrambled or ...

I wouldn't get a portable one for every day (the reviews are right!) but if you travel very much it is well worth having one.

Re: Help... I'm in pain
I am at nine weeks and I still feel very much everything you are describing even though things are gradually improving. I'm telling you this NOT to sound discouraging but to reassure you that in some cases it's a slower process. Sometimes I read about someone who had no problem after a certain numbe...

Re: Help... I'm in pain
I'm at 8 weeks and just want to lend my support and tell you that klobird is right. My ortho assistant told me the less wax I used the quicker I would toughen up but it was only when I started to use tons of it that I started to heal and toughen up. Luckily i found this site and listened to others i...

Re: How long until mouth feels more normal?
Four days, wow! That's great and the pain will subside. I have had little to no pain except for the usual sore cheeks which have toughened up enormously. It's this yucky feeling of my mouth being filled with foreign matter, which it is (!) but I thought I would get used to and that doesn't seem to b...

Re: How long until mouth feels more normal?
Thank you for the responses. I usually adjust quickly to things and I'm frustrated that I don't feel any progress in getting used to this feeling but you are all encouraging me. What's weird is that the right side feel somewhat normal but the left side feels packed full of cotton or something. I hav...
