Re: LEtranger 31 & braces
Speech issue cleared up pretty quickly. Most recent issue is that for the last days I have not been able to drink anything, regardless of temperature but worse with hot/cold. I get this intense pain in one the the back upper teeth if I drink anything without a straw. I was at the dentist for a adjus...

Re: Excited/nervous
Thanks for the support everyone! SO today is my 3rd day in braces and I must say that I was quite surprised at the level of discomfort that I've had while chewing. The "softest" of foods have been difficult to chew ie pasta/fish/bread  . The first day with my braces on wasn't so bad ...

Re: My girlfriend is getting braces too!
I can really see how knowing someone getting braces can inspire others. I don't know anyone in real life that has or have had braces after the age of 20 so this forum really helps. I'm glad my girlfriend does not have any problems with her bite as it's enough with me being grumpy around the apartment.

Good luck and welcome to the forums!
Keep your focus on it being something you really have wanted to get done for a long time even when the braces are giving you a hard time.

Re: What was your first meal/food after braces?
Cream of carrot soup, chicken a la king, and tiramisu, from the cafeteria of my grandmother's nursing home. She said she wanted to be the first person after my ortho to see me on Brace Day, so I visited her right after my appointment, and it was lunch time. I was afraid of eating right away, but fo...

Re: LEtranger 31 & braces
Talking is really hard, got a mean lisp. Trying to read out loud when I can at home but last night I also realised that eating is going to be very hard. The plastic behind my front teeth means I can't bite down so my molars don't connect which means it's impossible to chew anything. Guess I have to ...

Re: LEtranger 31 & braces
Almost 2 months in and haven't been at the forum for a while. Things have been going really well. A bit awkward socially but gotten quite used to it. Today I went to my doctor and got fitted with the lower brackets and wire which feels quite ok. The biggest issue right now is the plastic piece they...

Sorry to hear about the issue with bleeding. Being without food can really get your mood down. Hope you can reward your self with something good soon enough.

Re: Braces, finally!
I'm "just" having one or perhaps two incisors removed and I'm also freaking out a bit. Seems like it's more common to remove premolars but I just have to put faith in my dentist. I just posted one picture in my thread, it took me one week to do it even though I took pictures before even ge...

Great progress from the first pictures. Hope you'll get a brace free summer!
I have heard people say that ceramics takes longer, but how much longer? Does not really matter in my case but I'm just curious.

Re: LEtranger 31 & braces
Aww,dont b disappointed,i am sure ur ortho has a valid reason for doing things in stages Yeah, I think so to. I'm worried about what will be done (extractions) and how the end result will look. You want to keep yourself motivated on how it will look when it is all finished but at the same time you ...
