Re: Trouble coping with bad surgery result
Firstly, you're NOT an idiot. You trusted your surgeon, which everyone has to do at some point - we have no choice. It sounds like you have very real concerns. The problem is often that surgeons will 'close ranks' and not want to acknowledge that anyone's work has gone wrong, least of all their own ...

Re: Trouble coping with bad surgery result
you poor thing - feeling like that must be dreadful. First I would consider seeing a therapist - possibly a cognitive one - to help you cope with these feelings. Next, I would consider consulting with a plastic surgeon - they can really help post-surgical issues with injectable fillers and/ or impla...

Re: October 2012 Buddies
Hey lady! Well my surgeon said they clear out of town patients to fly after about a month. However it can be very uncomfortable as you can't clear
Your ears or blow your nose. I asked if I can fly home
from LA to London two months post surgery and they said I would be fine. Hope that's helpful.

Yeah a list would be great. Also have you joined the facebook group (we need/got jaw surgery)? If you don't mind people knowing your name, it's so easy to chat on there and we can IM and email each other if you wanted that option...

Re: Experience with surgery for asymmetrical face
Hi Viking, I have the same condition as you (except mine was caused by an accident as a child). My upper jaw grew slightly askew to match the lower as Marisama said his has, but that is only very slight- mostly like you my teeth are tilted inward more on one side. I'm having surgery in October to co...

Re: September 2012 Surgery date
Hi Sherrylee,
poor you having to do this again. It's funny - my ortho never told me to wear my retainers forever either. I should have done. This will be my first surgery but my fourth round of braces. I want to wish you all the best - hopefully it'll be easier for you this time around:)

Re: Kind of concerned about the state of my teeth and jaw
It may be free in countries with universal healthcare but there's no guarantee you would qualify. You can't just decide you need it (even if you really do, because they have a series of guidelines and minor cases would not get free surgery, you'd have to go privately. Private (i.e. not free) Europea...

Re: Jaw Questions - Long Face Syndrome
i have long face syndrome and my lower lip covers my upper teeth (even though I have an over jet). This is common in LFS patients as you mentioned, the upper jaw becomes underdeveloped through mouth breathing etc and is too far back (obstructing the airway, constricting the tongue etc). My surgeon i...

That's good to know thank you! Just wondering what makes you say he's not great on aesthetics? Did you see his work that you didn't like? Or you didn't like his surgical plan for you? It would really help me to know. Thanks again so much

Re: Unsuccessful Surgery - Need Advice
Hi there where are you located/ who was your original surgeon?
I hope you feel better after a second opinion. I think you may have a good case for compensation although it's not easy to see a problem from the picture. A good lawyer would be able to help you prove a discrepancy. Good luck!

Does anybody know DRs Kupferman/ Walline/ Relle in LA?
Hi everyone, I am heading towards double jaw surgery with the above doctors. Dr K will be my chief surgeon I believe (maybe Dr Relle will also be there, not sure yet). They seemed very nice and very thorough but just wondering if anyone has any experience of them at all? I can't find much online - I...
