Re: October 2012 Buddies

43 days post-op and my splint was removed today. I can eat whatever I want and participate in all of my pre-op workouts. I only have to wear bands at night and a few waking hours until I see my ortho. I also won't be seeing my surgeon again until after my braces are off. I was able to eat chinese fo...

Re: October 2012 Buddies

@indigo. I'm feeling much better now(Day 11) . I think the difficulty from breathing has been due to the swelling and trauma to the midface area from surgery, as well as blood and mucous drainage. I'm been staying on top of things with saline spray, and cleaning my nostrils out, so that has helped.

Re: October 2012 Buddies

I am day 3 post double jaw surgery and not feeling TOO awful. I haven't had much of an appetite, but have been trying to keep hydrated and pain free. The worst part for me is the congestion. It is so claustrophobic not being able to breathe. We have a humidifier and I've been able to carefully clear...

Re: October 2012 Buddies

After my "episode" on July 30, I am officially re-booked for surgery on October 1. I had to be cleared by a neurologist before I could have surgery because the nurse in pre-op thought I had a seizure when they inserted my IV. It took 2 visits, a CT, EEG, and script for Ativan, but I'm fina...

Re: Do we have a July 2012 buddy group yet?

Thanks for all your kind words. I know they have my best interest at heart, it is just disappointing to have to reschedule again. We had originally planned on an early July surgery, but my mom fell ill, then passed away so I was back in my home state working through that and we had to reschedule. No...

Re: Do we have a July 2012 buddy group yet?

My surgery for today was cancelled. I passed out a few min after they put my IV in (happens all the time with blood work etc., which i told them). The nurse thought it was a seizure and the anesthesiologist refused to put me under. They sent me to the ER where they did a battery of tests and now I h...

Re: Do we have a July 2012 buddy group yet?

I am having my surgery in July, but the exact date is not set yet. I had been told that I was just having a Lefort I maxillary advancement, but after an appointment with the oral surgeon yesterday, he thinks that double jaw surgery is the way to go in order to best line up the midlines and best resu...

Re: expecting surgery this summer

Just a Lefort I. That was my mistake. For some reason I have been calling it a Lefort 3 in my head the past few weeks.

My ortho is currently working on closing a gap i have d/t extractions of the pre molars. I go back May 9th to have molds made and...
