When I first got my bite plate (4 weeks ago) I thought how am I going to live with this thing. I constantly was running my tounge over it. Talking was difficult. I had to do a presentation the day after I got it and honestly people were looking at me strange. A colleague said, do you have something ...

Niknikc I think you should say something to your ortho. I have always be a grinder. Before braces I wore a night guard because I had cracked a tooth from constant grinding. It is worse with braces and often find myself during the day grinding. I had an extraction at the beginning of my braces journe...

My ortho uses zinc string to "tie" up my teeth after they put the powerchain on. I have gotten to the point that it doesn't hurt anymore. I have a huge gap that needs to close that won't. I got a bite plate 2 weeks ago to keep me from reopening the gap when I close. When I go back next wee...

My ortho did this two adjustments ago with a different wire. It just moved my upper teeth out a little so that there would be some space when I bite down. Be prepared with pain killers. My teeth were as sore as when I first got my braces on. And...the assistant had a heck of a time getting the wire ...

I got a bite plate last Thursday so that I wouldn't be able to close all the way to encourage an extraction gap to close. Here is the wierd thing...when I wake up in the morning the gap feels smaller, but by the end of the day it feels like it has for the past year and a half. Is that possible, or a...

As everyone has said, it's an estimate... My time frame was 30 months...I am almost 20 months in. A couple of months ago my ortho said, things are really progressing, you will probably be out early... At my last adjustment last Wednesday he was a little bothered with a gap that refuses to close. Now...

Sometimes wheh I have something that hurts really bad, I use Peroxyl mouth wash. Colgate makes it. Usually within two rinses the sores are cleared up. My son got ulcers on his gums when he first got his braces which were really nasty and it cleared them up within 24 hours. It is REALLY strong, but i...

No, I really don't think that's okay. I would give your ortho a call and let him know that is happening.

My ortho is terrific. He has an extremely busy practice, but I never wait when I go in for my appointments, even if they are emergency appointments. In fact, I usually arrive early and they usually take me early. The assistants are great as well, very kind and willing to answer questions. My ortho a...

My ortho put my brackets on and left the bracket off the tooth to be extracted. Then I had the extraction and he put the wire on 1 week later. He said a week was plenty of time for healing.

loose band

My son has braces and an expander. He came to me on Friday and said the band on his back molar was loose. At that point it wasn't moving a whole lot. Now it's REALLY moving. I am going to call in the morning...my question is has this happened to anyone? AND, will they have to undo everything to get ...
