I have ceramics and drink coffee EVERYDAY! The only thing that stains are the ligs and the powerchains, but not the actual brackets.

bbsadmin That's funny that you mention about the porche. I took my daughter to the dentist last week for her cleaning. I asked the dentist about two of her teeth that are coming in funny . His reply me was, "You should have just bought Dr.... (My ortho and my son's ortho) his porche instead of ...

I am a mom with braces too! My kids are 9 and 13, and are both really great kids. My son just got his braces last week, so it has actually been really helpful because I understand what he is going through. Although, he has handled it A LOT better than I did when I first had them. I feel like I am be...

I was braced in Jan of 2005, had an extraction in Feb 2005, and still have the gap. My adjustment last week was the first time that the gap is being addressed. I knew this going into the extraction. He told me that he needed the space to move things around and get them in the right spot. In fact, he...

I have ceramics on the top front 6 and metal on the rest. The ceramics are slightly larger on your teeth than the metal, but not noticeably. I personally really like the ceramics. The ligatures and the powerchains stain, and at times it is really annoying, but you get used to it! This last adjustmen...

At my adjustment Tuesday I got powerchains top and bottom on the fronts and on the sides to pull my molars toward the front. And, zinc string "just to tie it up nice and tight" according to the ortho assistant. This is the first adjustment in a long time that there has been any pain. Today...

My son got his braces yesterday! Woohoo!!! He is 13, and he is so cute trying to talk, and eat. (I know you're thinking 13, cute...but he is my son and I still see him as my baby) He keeps saying, Mom is it supposed to feel this way? But he is also very excited. I overheard him on the phone last nig...

Chris,
What is your ortho trying to fix?
I go Tuesday. My ortho says this is the one where he starts to correct my bite. I am curious how it is done with elastics.

When I first got my braces I couldn't close my mouth. I was really worried, thought my ortho did something wrong. So, I called the office and they said that my teeth would move in the first 24-48 hours enough to allow my mouth to close. Sure enough....So, can they move quick? Absolutely! I usually s...

Grits are wonderful if prepared correctly! They are NASTY if not cooked correctly. They have also become very "in" at resturants around the mid-atlantic states. They taste terrific with seafood!

I paid $1200 up front with monthly payments of $170 for 30 months. Just last week I took my son in for his consultation and my ortho waived all records fees (which I think mine was about $150) His braces are on for a shorter amount of time and he is getting standard kid braces - no ceramics, not sel...

I live on tomato sauce, soup, etc. My powerchains usually don't look too bad; however, this go around my ortho used zinc string to tighten up the powerchains. The zinc string pratically turns yellow as soon as you breathe on it...yuk. to make matters worse, my length between adjustments has t...

How long have you been braced? A tortilla chip should not have broken a molar band. I eat just about everything except popcorn and I have not had any problems.
Good luck, and I would try tortilla chips again if you really love them, just work your way up.
