Lisping

I found I would try to rephrase tings to avoid having to make a lot of "S" sounds.

"This is the place" would become "We have arrived"
"Lets discuss this in my office" would be "we can meet in my office"

etc.

The best trick

The best trick I used for removing them was to ALWAYS put my new aligners in at 7 p.m. and leave them in at least 12 hours. They are the tightest for the first 8-10 hours, then get a bit easier to remove.

Before and after photos

Before and after pictures of my invisalign treatment. I'm very happy with how it turned out. I had a good ortho who really knew what he was doing. Also, thanks to everyone here for their support.

Last Day of Invisalign!

Today is my last day of Invisalign! Tomorrow I get the bumps removed and switch to retainers at night! It's weird but I'm going to miss them after a year and a half

Almost done with Invisalign

Well, I'm finally almost done with Invisalign. I'm on Aligner 42 of 48. The movement of my teeth has been amazing, but it is coming down to the wire on the two teeth to the side of my front teeth which were the most crooked. One has moved nicely into place, the other is still misaligned slightly (it...

Invisalign

I bought a bunch of disposable toothbrushes so I can carry one with me when necessary. Usually, though, I just stick to mineral water or water (unless it's a restaurant obviously)

Dogs and invisalign

Just a cautionary word--DON'T leave your aligners where a dog can get to them. I came in and found my dog chewing something and, you guessed it, it was my aligner. Fortunately, it was my previous aligner. Definitely the world's most expensive dog chew

Taking off aligners

Two things that will help: 1) ALWAYS put your new aligner on just before you go to bed. The first 8-9 hours are the toughest to take it out, and if you can just sleep through that period you're better off. 2) Start from the sides and back. I pull up from the back on either side with my thumb, then h...

Bumps

I have four bumps on my four middle top teeth and they're barely noticeable. The only thing about them is they take some getting used to. Initially, they feel really weird, but that goes away.

Thanks

I didn't know about those toothbrushes. The question is: will the airport screeners? Just because something "complies" doesn't mean they still don't try to take it from you.

Overcorrection?

My ortho wants me to wear two extra trays once my teeth are in the perfect spot from invisalign. He says this "overcorrection" is needed because once I stop invisalign my teeth will start to move back into their old position. I'm not quite sure I understand this--can't I just wear my third...

Concerns over long plane flights coming up

TWO THINGS--ONE I have about six long plane flights coming up over the next two months. Due to the new security regulations, I can no longer bring toothpaste onto the plane. I don't want to go 10 hours without eating, so was thinking of eating, then just swishing with water and putting my aligners b...
