I think the cost for my family including insurance was around $500.

I'm getting the ceramic brackets. Does anyone know if those hurt worse or about the same as the metal ones. I'm not really sure about any differences other than the looks obviously.

From what my friends have said the pain from the spacers is worse than anything you'll have with braces. May not be true for everyone, but the spacers are hurting me pretty bad right now!

I'm turning 21 and I too have mixed feelings. Sometimes I think I'd rather just be in college without braces than have to deal with everyone asking me why I didn't just get them back in middle school like everyone else.

It is looking like I will be 21 when I get my braces.
