Re: Did Bite blockers speed up your treatment?
Bite blockers just stop your brackets from hitting each other when you bite down. That way it doesn't knock off a bracket. Never heard of it speeding up treatment.

Tightest rubber bands ever!
Hey everyone. Been in braces for about 3 and a half years and now we have come to the end of the journey. I have used rubber bands before but then I did not need them anymore. Now we are at the end of the treatment where he says I need to wear them again for hopefully only 1 month, though it could b...

Re: How often are your visits?
Those little rubber bands lose their slack quick in my opinion. I personally would never wait 8 weeks for an adjustment. In the end though, its up to what the guy doing them says. I would bring it up to him. Just say " Everyone I know who has or had braces had their adjustments every 4 weeks. I...

Re: Colour Suggestions :)
As a 27 year old male, I always use clear colored. I was thinking about silver colored but I dunno.. Hmm might be more noticeable. I have light shades of blue look nice on some people. Just not for me

Re: Dental cleaning and braces - how does YOUR dentist do it
I have never had the wire come out during a cleaning. My hygienist does not care. She said the only time they would need to take out the arch wire is for a deep cleaning. Reg normal cleanings, there is no need for it.

Re: How soon after eating....
I brush twice a day. When I wake up, and before I go to sleep. Of course I use listorine and ACT flouride also. I usually rinse with some biotene PBF once in between there somewhere. I also use a proxy brush after brushing normally. Floss at night. The idea of brushing my teeth after every meal is n...

Re: Has anyone ever used Biotene with their braces?
I never considered there was a difference between mouthwashes. It seems that ACT has almost 2x fluoride than Crest. I will pick up some and see if I like it. Never tried it before. I think no matter the brand, as long as you are flossing every day, brushing thoroughly, preferably after ever meal, a...

Re: Has anyone ever used Biotene with their braces?
I didn't think it mattered when. I might use it 3-4x a day, depending on how my mouth feels. I use Crest without alcohol after flossing and brushing then the Biotene so I'm left with that moist, almost oily feeling. My orthro said that ACT is a must because it helps prevent the white spots when the...

Re: Has anyone ever used Biotene with their braces?
I love Biotene!! I don't think the taste is too bad. I am getting bad irritation from my bands and Biotene helps, at least temporarily. When my mouth is dry and my lips sticking to my teeth, I use it to kind of lubricate everything, rather than painfully move my gums around, especially first thing ...

Re: First adjustment...not what I expected
Yeah. The one thing I am beginning to realize is that they really do know more then us. If we give them that amount of money to get these things on, we need to trust them.
Now if your 2 years into your treatment and nothing looks good... then I think its time to yell lol

Re: First adjustment...not what I expected
Congrats on the movement! You are well on your way. My ligs are changed every appointment. Renews the pressure on the wire. I am sure he had a reason not to give you new ones. Maybe you were moving to much to quickly lol. My power chains also were changed every month. Sadly mine were taken off becau...

lol I will deal with icky if it stops the dry mouth and takes off the plaque film on my teeth. The reviews for it are pretty incredible. The PBF version

Re: Getting very discouraged and almost wanting to take them
Hi there! what is the update on your braces? Has anything changed? hopefully it has :) Yeah I went in for my adjustment today. I had a cleaning before hand which I needed. Love getting those. Only negative was I have some decalcification on one tooth, so I need to be for vigilant and use the fluori...
