Re: frustrated was suppose to get the final wire

I now have final wires on the top and the bottom. I have a anticipating that mine will be on longer than ortho planned. I sure hope when treatment is final that my teeth looked better than they did before. I am a worrier. lol. I am suppose to have them for two years and that will be Oct. 10, 2013. I...

Re: Is this a bad result?

I think you have a very pretty nose. Why do we seek perfection? I am 53 and have had braces for about 15 months. I ask myself now why I even chose to have braces.

Re: My teeth...just because!

Re: Where did my overjet come from?

When I started treatment, like 4 million years ago, I had an extremely tight overjet and very little to no overbite. My top and bottom incisors rubbed when I bit down in a normal molar bite. During this treatment I've noticed gaps forming and pretty early on I noticed quite an overjet forming. It j...

frustrated was suppose to get the final wire

  Went to ortho today. I was suppose to get final wire on top and bottom. I was so excited, only to get depressed because she didn't put the final wires on. She said she wanted to put an angulation wire on the top to correct the angulation. Then she went to put the final wire on the b...

Re: contouring my bottom teeth in two days

I went in today to have a spacer put back in that had fallen out. My ortho is going to do some contouring on my bottom teeth on Thursday. They are kinda v shaped and I have contact at the top of the teeth and spacing by the gums. My teeth are really flared. I am hoping she will also put a thicker w...

Re: Metal or clear

I have clear on top. They seem huge to me compared to the metal on the bottom, however, with that being said, they are a lot less conspicuous than the metal. So as a 42 year old woman, I am very glad I have clear on top! Now, I just wish I had been born with naturally beautiful teeth (or parents wh...

Re: 11 days and counting!

I found that when I concentrated on having my tongue touch the roof of my mouth when I swallowed that it wouldn't touch - but I had to conciously think about it ALL the time. that is what concerns me. even when I concentrate the one on the right still touches. Maybe on thursday they can move it. I ...

[quote="klobird"]I'm 56 and in braces. Basically, I have been told that my overjet and bad bite were causing my teeth to fracture (inside) and that if I have to have dentures it will be horrible. I have huge tori (bone overgrowth under my tongue) and that bone would probably have to be rem...

[quote="Faithaf83"]4 days to go!! Excited much?!?! Looking forward to the weightloss and the metal mouth. lol I have to say, I am not looking forward to flossing. I have never had to floss as my teeth are so gappy - so as the gaps close, obviously I'll have to start. :) Has anyone had to u...

Re: tongue thrust treatment

[quote="dezlorelle"]Carolyn- I had a rough time with the spikes at first too. You really do have to make an effort to stick your tongue on the roof of your mouth to swallow. You will still slightly touch the spikes but it shouldn't hurt. If you attempt to swallow the wrong way and touch yo...

[quote="dezlorelle"]I'm an adult with braces and I had no idea I had a tongue thrusting problem. But a few months into my treatment, I was advised I would need to re learn how to swallow. Even as an adult it is difficult to train yourself to do something different that you never had to con...
