Orthodontic appointment on August 29th. Got things tightened up a bit and rubber bands replaced. I was hoping to get the wire installed on upper teeth, but orthodontist said it will probably be another 2-3 months before that happens :-( Things are definitely moving! Week 1 is complete!! It's been pretty brutal. My strep throat is finally clearing up :-) I managed to fight through it with garlic and apple cider vinegar. And lots of butternut squash soup!! I'm so sick of soup. I eat maybe once a day, and it's the consistency of baby food. And now I am 7 lbs light...

Update:: I got the wires! I have a full titanium wire on the lowers, and two side wires on the uppers. The orthodontist said that we have to start moving those canines back before we can work on the front teeth. It's been two days since the wires went to work, and I can already floss between the can...

Consultations here in the states are usually free. I had a second opinion, but it was before treatment. I just took copies of the first orthos x-rays to the new orthodontist and she gave me a free consult! I was very happy with her.

I had 4 extractions on 21-Jul-2012... I still can't eat normally. My ortho is making me wait 7 days before she puts my wire on. Just three more days!

I just bought one from amazon! I can't wait to try it out. The reviews said that even after brushing and flossing, a water pik will remove all sorts of junk. I have some peridontal issues, so I am hoping that the water pik will remove debris and maybe even stimulate new growth to my receding gums!

I first had braces from 15-18. This time around I am 27. Hopefully will have them off before I turn 30!
