Re: PICTURES INCLUDED bimax protrusion
Thanks guys for your opinions! I still have 2 weeks before I see my orthodontist, so I think I'll do more research and ask him about it. Bellarina, I would love to see your pictures. I'm glad to have someone in the same boat as me. It's a tough decision when people don't understand why you are takin...

Re: Have you ever had a second opinion? (while already brace
As far as I know, initial consultation fee is usually free but if you were getting records like X-rays done, you need to pay for them. My old orthodontist said that if you transfer out prior to completion of treatment, a fee adjustment will be made reflecting work completed.

Re: Extraction Gaps
I don't think your cheeks will get too hollow but will be slightly slimmer than before. I need to get extractions done as well so when I asked my orthodontist, he said that the gaps will close by moving back molars forward and front teeth back in 30/70 relations. But then, my case is to bring back m...

6 months I believe. Unless your orthodontist finds something wrong and tells you.

Re: Will braces make gums move as well? (bimax protrusion)
Thanks choppers! This is actually my second time getting braces. I don't have them yet, but I've already scheduled an appointment for it which will be in 2 weeks. When I first had them, it was 9 years ago (I'm 21 right now), to correct my underbite. Back then, I never realized that I had bimax protr...

Will braces make gums move as well? (bimax protrusion)
I posted earlier about my bimax, and I'm also wondering if my gums or the roots of my teeth would shift back as well. The angle of my teeth are slanted out but not enough that they are over jets. I heard that when your gums/roots are sticking out then when you move your teeth back, it could result i...

Worried about teeth extraction for braces...
This is my second time getting braces. I had braces when I was 12 and I'm 21 right now. The reason why I'm getting braces again is because of my bimax protrusion. I didn't even notice that I had this until I graduated high school, so back when I first had braces, I guess I never really mentioned thi...
