Lingual Braces - Melbourne Australia

Hi Everyone,

Don't suppose anybody has received a quote for upper lingual braces (lower normal braces) for under the $10,000 mark anywhere in Melbourne, Australia at all?

My quotes have all been in the 'teens of thousands'. Quite a hefty outlay!

Picture is a bit grainy - but I'm sure you can appreciate the extent of the deep-bite and the overjet! Lucky me, I also have four impacted wisdom teeth.

Re: 6 month brace - Help

I gather the whole 'six month' estimate is just that - an estimate. Sorry your time has tripled :(

Melbourne Australia - Between $7,500 and $9,500 (regular metal braces)

+ $6,000 for orthognathic surgery.

In adulthood, I think ceramic is definitely a bit more inconspicuous :) Just avoid the red wine!

Re: How do people come up with the money (just curious)?

I find this question baffling too! I just can't bring myself to refinance my house for the sake of my teeth, nor to put them on a credit card.

Re: LOOKING FOR cost effective LINGUAL BRACES SYDNEY

Goodness me! $8,500 for lingual upper and normal lower? I have been quoted $14,500 - $17,000 for the same. I think I'll be getting some further opinions. $8,500 seems very reasonable to me!

Re: FUCNTIONAL ORTHODONTIST IN THE UK,PLEASE HELP?

I'm afraid I can't help you in finding an orthodontist who will treat with functional appliances, but if you manage to find one, would love to know how you go. I am very hesitant about having jaw surgery and would much prefer to use appliances. I have however, also been advised that appliances are n...

Re: treatment without surgery?

I have a very similar problem! I can't find an orthodontist who will treat me without surgery. I hope you find an answer. I'm pretty certain I won't be taking the surgical route lightly!

Re: Overjet, overbite, spacing and the options!

Thanks for your replies! I'm in Australia. Bracing the upper and lower teeth isn't an option without surgery unfortunately. My bite is too deep and doing so would make it deeper. I have an overbite that is considered more than 100%. I've had a couple of orthodontists suggest bracing just the top tee...

Overjet, overbite, spacing and the options!

Hi everyone, I'm in my early 20's and have a 9mm overbite, 9mm overjet and severe spacing of both my upper and lower teeth. My upper front teeth sit at an angle of 110 degrees and my lower teeth sit at 135 degrees (obviously, normal is 90 degrees). I have seen no fewer than six orthodontists, all ha...
