Re: Profile Changes
I'm not a dental professional, but taking the first premolars out is probably going to make your teeth move back too much and increase your already-nice nasolabial angle. I mean you don't want to look like old people wearing dentures.

Re: How Does Your Doctor Do It?
Hey JillD, my ortho is doing the same thing to me (canine retraction 1st and then bring 4 front teeth back) and I'm 9.5 months in and canine retraction should be done by next month. It's the norm. Don't worry. Your ortho knows what she is doing. Btw, how are you coping with the B I G gaps between la...

anchorage loss
Hi all, I got four of my 1st premolars removed 10 months ago and I'm now in the process of retracting my canines to create space for the retraction of 4 of my front teeth. However, I notice that the gaps between my lateral incisors and canines are of different sizes comparing the right side to the l...

Re: Photos of results - Bimax & Jaw Angles - Dr Mommaerts
I don't know why you even needed surgery. u look like tom cruise already. I can definitely see the results of fat being removed from you chin, but other than that i cant really see a difference in the position of your maxilla and mandible after surgery.

Re: URGENT: people who had bimax protrusion & EXTRACTIONS
i have had extractions done and i'm also in the phase of retracting my canines. i think the change has been positive cus it makes my mouth/face less full. the only thing i worry about is that i dont get enough space from just premolar extraction cus my molars move forwards despite having TPA... how ...

Re: Honestly, do you floss?
yes i floss at night after dinner. even then i can still smell the bad odour on the floss (after flossing the very far back area behind my 2nd molars) so i know its important that you hv to floss cus its impossible to clean that area with interdental brush...

Re: Retraction without much space left?
Hey i also had my 4 premolars extracted to make room for front teeth retraction for my overbite. I'm also 7.5 months into my overbite treatment, but I'm not even half way through retracting my upper canines and the gaps between canines and incisors are getting bigger and bigger. How come you are don...

Re: My first day of Metal Mouth with Transpalatal Arch
I have had TPA for 7.5 months now and i'm totally used to it now. Don't worry you will be fine. When I 1st ate noodles with my TPA on, I almost choked because a noodle got stuck in TPA while part of it was already swallowed (so the noodle was hanging from my throat to my TPA)... so just be aware of ...

in panic.. my widsom tooth erupts while wearing braces.
I just looked at the mirror and just figured out my bottom right widsom tooth has partially erupted as I can feel and see the teeth surface on gum behind my 2nd molar. I remember it was fully impacted on the x-ray i did 6 months ago and my ortho said there is no way it can erupt as there's no room. ...

Re: Will i have a straight face??
does your mouth stick out on the side profile?? if the profile is too convex, having extractions done can bring your front teeth back to where they r supposed to be without the sunken cheek and all.
