Re: Nervous about not liking result
Everyone has those fears. However, if you're getting braces you're 100% certain not to be happy with the starting result. I'm 31 and the only regret I have is not doing it sooner!

Re: Does Incognito brace speech impediment wear off?
Mine went away to the extent that it mattered fairly quickly. The only time it (still) can come back if if I've got a sore tongue (strangely in the morning sometimes it is) or really tired or probably drunk (don't care then though). You have to think about it for maybe 3-6 months but then more and m...

Re: Power Flosser is this the same as the waterpik ?
I've got a water pik spam (EDIT: Since that got blocked as Scam... WP250, ps it's a bit annoying how tight this board is on such things) it apparently is easier to use in the UK shaver sockets. Can't recommend highly enough. Not even just for braces but gum health too. First few times at full power ...

Re: Full house of retainers
Sounds a prudent (and good) idea Jem. I'm still in braces but my gf hates that her (pair of) essix shrunk leaving her with nothing now she's sure they have moved. I was thinking of asking for a bonded retainer just because I'm sure I'll not be a "perfect" patient about wearing them.

Re: Just got lingual braces
I had a look at your blog. Don't worry you'll be amazed at what braces can do. Sometimes it'll feel like nothing is happening then all of a sudden you'll notice big changes. I recently found shots from before I got them and find them almost funny how bad my teeth were!

Re: Just had my lingual braces put on
It's horrible to start with and it will be for quite some time. However you will need to watch what you eat over most of your treatment. I'm close to done and trust me it'll be worth it.

Re: Mad at my mouthwash!
I use Dentyl, it does gunk stuff up but I think that it sticks and keeps things fresher for longer. I've got linguals though so might be more of a pain for ones on the front.

Re: Treatment longer than predicted?
Mine was estimated at around 24 months, I'm expecting another 3-6 months but things are closing up much better after last adjustment. Even though there was the same gap one side went much quicker for me. It is quite strange but apparently it's just the bone nothing you can really do about it.

Re: how are you doing with talking?
It takes a fair bit of getting used to... then you might have to get elastics. If you're like me you want them on the inside to hide them. That had a big lispy effect! Never mind though better than having them on the outside.

Lingual Breath Paranoia
Hi everyone. I'm about 1 year into my incognito treatment and apart from swallowing 2 brackets between getting the brackets fitted and the first archwire put on (needed extractions) it has be 'ok'. The only part I'm still having problems with is that I'm pretty paranoid that my breath is bad. I stil...
