my orthodontist told me to just use soap and water.. they said "think of it like tupperware" so i've just been washing it with a tiny bit of soap to get it squeaky clean.
i have tried brushing it, but it doesn't feel clean lol

Re: Does Invisalign cause cavities?
it doesn't cause cavities, but there is a high chance you may get them if you don't take care of your teeth and your trays. with invisalign, you can't drink/eat anything but water with the trays in. you need to remove them, eat, then brush your teeth (or rinse at least) before putting them back in. ...

Re: Were you charged extra for TAD?
I have Invisalign and need to get TAD's too! Four total (two outside and two inside at the top).
I'm nervous about the price because I called two places (have to go to an oral surgeon) and they want me to pay for just a consultation and x-ray. :<

Re: Tray 6 and uneven bite
try not to worry too much, i think it's normal when the teeth shift, that it's the left side, then the right, etc. i didn't start my invisalign yet, so i can't tell you for sure, but when i was discussing the treatment, the ortho told me one week, my bite might be on the left side, and afterwards, p...

Re: Anyone choose NO Surgery for an Open Bite?
DRG and KRC202, thank you for your responses! Yes, I have noticed that most of the people on this site have had surgery or will. It makes me feel a bit better knowing that I'm not all alone in this world with this open bite or weird jaw/skeletal issue! I have seen three orthodontists so far and will...

Re: TAD and barces for an open bite
Hello, Unfortunately I cannot give you a clear answer, as I have never had it, but I will be getting TAD's for my treatment. I also have an open bite (quite severe  ) and I've seen three orthodontists so far. The first one really scared me because he said surgery is the only way to fix it best...

Re: Open bite, braces, wisdom teeth
Hello, I don't think my wisdom teeth were impacted, but I had both my bottom ones removed. It wasn't that bad, you're numb during and afterwards it's just annoying for about a week while you recover. I was researching the surgery and how you lose feeling in your face temporarily as the surgery does ...

Hi Denver! Welcome to the Board! I'm new, too. I'm 23 and I'm about to get braces, as well. Yea, I just saw an orthodontist FINALLY after waiting (until I could afford to pay for treatment) and he kind of scared me with his diagnosis. I understand how you feel about being nervous, so don't worry; th...

Re: Anyone choose NO Surgery for an Open Bite?
I have an an open bite for most of my life and I refused the surgery for years because I had no pain or symptoms. I also don't think I look deformed the way people with a underbite or overbite do, so I did not want the change to my face. Now I am 23 and just this year started getting jaw pain. It h...

Re: Anyone choose NO Surgery for an Open Bite?
Thank you!!
I scheduled another appointment with an orthodontist for a second opinion and will schedule another appointment for a third.
Hopefully they can provide a little more hope for me and my mouth

[quote="Marisama"]If your bite bothers you enough, I'd say to go for the surgery. Are you able to get a job with a good PPO insurance plan? There are plenty of plans that will cover jaw surgery at 100% if you stay in your network. I've chosen to go out of my network in order to have my sur...

Anyone choose NO Surgery for an Open Bite?
Hi All! New member, I'm 23 and from the Northeast. I just went to an orthodontist for a consultation (and I will be seeing more for second opinions). Basically, I have a bad open bite. I think he estimated about 8 mm   I did have braces when I was in middle school/high school, but after t...

Re: Jaw Questions - Long Face Syndrome
Hi! Just noticed you posted this in April-- any update with the orthodontist? I JUST met with an ortho today-- I think I have some similar symptoms with you, but I have a bad open bite. I've never heard of Long Face Syndrome but it seems I have that, too! Like you, I thought my tongue pushed out my ...
