regarding the speed with which your teeth are being moved, spacers usually offer a more abrupt change to the teeth than any other part of the braces process. So it is certainly plausible that you could notice a difference in space within just a day or so.

I know how important flossing is but I struggle getting it done twice a day every day. It winds up averaging about once a day though, which I figure isn't too bad.

Definately say something. You are paying the orthodontist to provide a service. How can he cater to your needs if he doesn't know what those needs are. Make sure he knows that you have higher priorities than simply removing the braces as soon as possible.

Dang. Sorry to hear that. What are they doing with the spacers in this case? I can't imagine they're just having you wear them for weeks on end, but if the spacers stay out of the teeth for too long then they don't serve their purpose. So how are they handling the spacers in your case with the movin...

If it makes you feel any better, I don't think I would have noticed the midline being off without you saying anything. Good luck with whatever you try doing with it though.
