Re: Inman aligners

oh wow Turnbulls your teeth look fantastic thank you for posting. I think the 'whiteness' looks perfect, I hope mine come out so well. I'm loving being brace free, although I did wake up this morning panicking for a moment that I had forgotten to put my brace in last night. I have to admit that I do...

Re: Inman aligners

:-* Thought it was a good time to post an update .... I am now IA and ... Clear Aligner free! My composite blobs have been removed, teeth cleaned, had a little bit of filing to my two lateral incisors and wire fixed to the back of my top teeth. I am absolutely thrilled and can't believe its all done...

Re: Inman aligners

Hi Mark180, well done for starting, the first week is definitely the hardest so hang in there. I agree with Turnbulls post having had a very similar experience. I remember dreading taking my IA out at first but after a few minutes the pain/pressure subsides, putting it back in is also similar but ju...

Re: Inman aligners

Inmanthedan, well done, day one sounds great. The first week was the toughest for me so I hope it continues. It is SO worth it. Turnbulls, wow isn't that brilliant news. :jump: Much quicker for you and cheaper and you are nearly there. :D What does the bonding mean and involve? Interesting he thinks...

Re: Inman aligners

Good luck Inmanthedan, hope it goes well tomorrow. So thats it for me with the IA. After a little bit of filing, proding, and three composite buttons etc I now am the proud owner of my first of three clear aligners for the last few tweeks. Boy the clear aligner is SO much easier to wear. My speech i...

Re: Inman aligners

Hi Inmanthedan, sometimes you can have too much info, don't worry it'll be fine. I didn't know anything about putting it on, your ortho will show you, probably in a mirror which helps. Once you've done it a number of times you'll be able to put it on without a mirror wherever you are. Yes it is bulk...

Re: Inman aligners

Hi Turnbulls, hmmmm I hadn't thought about the cleaning side of having the wire other than having to use a different instrument rather than floss, I'd assumed it would just take that extra bit of care. Given that I currently floss after every meal time with the IA, one thorough clear in the evenings...

Re: Inman aligners

Hi Inmanthedan, yes the speech will be a challenge there's no pretending otherwise! But the beauty of this device is you can remove it for telephone conversations or meetings if required. Good luck. Hi Turnbulls, I will be getting the dentist to do the initial whitening and then take home the tray t...

Re: Inman aligners

Hey well done Inmanthedan, you wont regret it! I visited my ortho this morning. Today starts week 16 for me and I am delighted to say thats me done with the IA :-* The last turn of the key was made on week 14. The IA has now done all it can and I just need a little adjustment with the help of clear ...

Re: Inman aligners

Hi Jasmin, apologies I've only just had a look and seen your message a few days ago. Yes it was me who had the same problem on day 2, the spring pinged out and was dangling down the plug hole in my basin. I can remember quite clearly how I felt  I'd just got through day 1/night 1 which is rath...

Re: Inman aligners

Hi Ruth, yes only a few more days and then the worst is over! I can't pretend my speech got better, it improved a little compared to the start but its still not great. To be honest you get to the point where you don't really care anymore, as long as the IA is working then you keep your head down and...

Re: Inman aligners

Hi Jasmin, Well done for starting with the IA. The first few days/the first week are by far the hardest in my opinion. Yes very tender teeth, I couldn't wait to take it out to eat but also dreaded taking it out as it hurt so much. It does get better and quite quickly it is not painful at all, as I r...

Re: Inman aligners

A great visit to my dentist this morning. I am now on week 10 :D He was very excited to see my teeth and the progression over the last two weeks. To be honest I hadn't noticed that much as I have been studying one tooth in particular willing it to move but there has been lots of change across the fr...

Re: Inman aligners

Oh Vicky that is the best news, you've only got it for one more week, yah. Do let us know how the clear aligners are. How long will you have them for, day and night again presumably? Will you then have a retainer or the wire? Yes everything is going really well, I will be in for the full 14 ish week...

Re: Inman aligners

Hi Turnbulls, I would say that the first noticeable change I could see was around my 5/6 weeks mark. The front bar was sitting centrally rather than the top of my protruding central tooth, therefore my tooth had moved in. It has then made an enormous change in the last two weeks and is lined up in t...
