I've had metal ligatures with ceramic brackets from day one. I find the metal ties not very noticeable....some people didn't notice I had braces for a few months. I have ceramic with metal ties so no staining but I now have power chains that do stain. If I could do it all again, I would probably choose self-ligating, ceramic braces.
