Well for me, since I was pretty decided on the ortho and clinic, I had spacers put in right after I got my records done, in my first visit. I had to pay a down payment of 1,700 + 400 for X-rays and subsequent visits at about 190 bucks.

I had spacers, and mien were the round blue rubber-y kind mentioned above! They felt weird at first, and did not prepare me at all for molar bands! :( And today I went for my first adjustment, where I was to be put in a tongue-trainer, but there was a really weird problem! My molar bands were size 1...
