Re: Loose, saggy skin after bimax surgery 3months post
Hi I had a high le fort 1 surgery in Dec. My jaws were moved forward 9mm, cephalometric analysis showed 6mm deficiency. The skin on my face is very loose now, i have a double chin that is not fat and also the skin on my neck is loose. I mean my neck was not swollen as far as I know. I am only 26. I...

Re: Dramatic nose change after surgery?
For anyone who's curious for an update: I did wind up undergoing rhinoplasty. It turns out the aesthetic problems I was struggling with were the mark of damaged internal structures. My septum got completely twisted during upper jaw surgery and and as a result part of my cartilage collapsed. I'm a w...

Re: Negative comment about my results :(
Girl, you look great. Your teeth are in a much better position and your smile is gorgeous. I'm also surprised by how much your profile improved with only upper jaw surgery! So don't worry about what one person says. Sometimes when you put something like "feel free to leave feedback/comments&quo...

Re: Consultation Fees Normal?
I have gotten several ballpark figures from several different surgeons. However I stated upfront that I am uninsured. I also stated that I was looking at double jaw surgery specifically. Usually the surgeons do have a set fee for uninsured folks. The hardest part was hospital fees...usually the surg...

Re: Removing the expander, is it painful?
I had an expander as a teenager. Not sure if it's the same type as yours. Did you have your wisdom teeth out? That's what it feels like having "an open wound" in your mouth. I didn't think it was that bad.

Re: Can't decide between BSSO, distraction osteogenesis and
From what I've seen, lower jaw surgery fees range $5,000-$15,000 uninsured. What you have to worry about even more when you're uninsured (or if your insurance doesn't cover it) is the hospital facility fee. One surgeon I went to charged $5,000 for lower jaw only. However, the hospital facility fee w...

Re: Long Face/Adenoid Facies Syndrome - Desperate for Soluti
I have many of the same issues. I have seen some local surgeons who are supposed to be good, but they have brushed me off because my bite is fairly good. I had braces expander, and rubberbands as a teenager. The problem is the straight teeth don't fit right in my face! Relaxed I look slack-jawed, sm...

Best AESTHETIC surgeons
Hey everyone. I am looking for an oral surgeon who has an eye for aesthetics. I went to the best surgeon in my area and he said he doesn't do work on people who have functional bites. I had braces, an upper palatial expander, and rubberbands as a teenager which gave me a decent bite and fairly strai...
No IVRO. I'm having upper 3 piece to correct the cant and transverse discrepancies and lower BSSO. I've only heard bad things about IVRO and TMJ.
What is the negative relationship between IVRO and TMJ?

Right jaw longer than left...
Hey all, new user here. I am going in for a consult next week. I had braces for 3-4 years and an expander as a teenager. My bite has never felt quite right. My bite is "okay" but not really comfortable. My right jaw is longer than my left. Eating and talking pops my jaw a lot and causes pa...
