Probably my mom: "ah... the things we do to look pretty". As if the *only* reason to get braces is to improve one's appearance. I was/am self conscious about my smile but the larger reason for me is confidence based.

Waterpik ultra (Costco has one that also includes a travel Waterpik!) and right now I actually like Oral b Superfloss, though I could see that changing once my teeth are closer togther.

I have self ligating brackets and had the bottom wire slip out. I went in to have it fixed, which they were happy to do, but the tech just grabbed it with pliers and poked it back thru the closed door. She said I can try it myself or make an appointment if it happens again.

I would just mention exactly what you posted here at your next visit, before any work is done. It's a reasonable request to make.

I had extractions and braces done the same day two weeks ago. Things were really rough for about a week but they are a lot better now. I also lift weights (oly style) and it was about a week before I felt "safe" to hit the gym again. You'll be up and running again soon

Try vitamin k2. I take between 5-10 mg per day. It helps your body lay down calcium in the right places (bones and teeth instead of arterial plaque) and lots of people notice a significant reduction in oral plaque too.
