jaw expansion and braces update! :)
Hi guys! I just wanted to share an update on my treatment! I was braced right after i finished up with my jaw expansion during February of this year. After my teeth straightened out, a spring was installed between my left lower premolar and lateral incisor to make a gap for my canine which is stuck ...

Re: Adult Palate Expander - braces try number 2
Hello, Rapid jaw expanders have worked for me after 7 months of putting up with it haha. The process to me felt SOOOO DARN SLOW, but it's all about mind over matter. Just search "rapid jaw expanders" in the search field on this forum and several of my posts on adult jaw expansion should po...

Re: Top teeth stick out after getting braces off?
I think that your teeth looks great from the front! The side picture shows that the teeth sticks out just a teeny tiny bit. If you pull out all four teeth (two on top and two on the bottom) your facial structure will change slightly. This will result in a narrower jaw and your ortho is right, your l...

Re: 25 year old with Removable Rapid Palater Expander
Hello there! I am 22 years old and I had to wear a removable rapid jaw expander for about 7 months. I stopped wearing them about a little more than a month ago when I got my braces put on. I was supposed to continue wearing the expanders along with my braces a month or two after I got braced so that...

Re: Newbie here!
Hi Spring1onu! I hope that your orthodontist can somehow find a way to save your impacted tooth! If not then it's most likely that you may get an implant in place of it if they decide to extract it? I also have an impacted canine, but I don't know for sure if it's fused to the bone yet unfortunately...

Re: Hygiene Check!!
I floss every few days. I rarely flossed before because my teeth were so tight. I think I could make it a habit when I get these aggravating things off my teeth! I use tweezers with my floss instead of threaders. Sooo much faster!
Oh my gosh! I thought I was t...

Re: Tips for wearing expander
You should talk, sing, and practice reading a book out loud as much as you can in order to get used to your expanders. Are you getting both top and bottom expanders? I got used to my top expanders after a week of getting it since I got them before my lower expanders. I had a really hard time with my...

Re: Hi guys! :)
Thank you for your great advice Jem! I didn't start turning my screws more than once each day like I really wanted to in order to speed things up. I actually had a check-up a few days ago after my first post and my ortho thinks that my jaw expansion is going great! He wanted to put my braces on asap...

Re: Another Newbie Joins Up!
It's great to hear that you are finally deciding to get braces! Similar to you, I have always wanted braces since I was little. My parents couldn't afford to pay for my orthodontics when I was young. I stopped going to the dentist right after i finished middle school due to my parents having more mo...

Hi baby girl!
I feel your pain when it comes to the jaw expanders! How are you holding up and when do you finally get your braces on?
