Re: Damon braces, upper and lower
Thank you all :) I'm now wearing a fixed retention on my lower teeth (small wire glued behind), and a removable clear plastic appliance on my upper teeth (night only). A small price to pay... the worst part is definitely over. My ortho is still not completely satisfied... he wants to "trim"...

Re: Damon braces, upper and lower
And it's done!!!
After almost 14months, I'm free!!! It wasn't that hard, though.

I'm very glad with the results. Maybe not 100% perfect teeth, but pretty good enough for me!!!

Re: Damon braces, upper and lower
It's been a while, and I'm still wearing braces of course. BUT... not for long! As it seems, my ortho believes I'm ready to move on with my life without them :) so I'll be removing them next saturday! He initially said it should take about 1 year, give or take... and pretty much got it right! It's b...

I don't avoid any foods at all... some are harder to chew or just leave a mess, but that doesn't stop me

Re: Hidden tooth progress!
I agree.....great progress!! I am always impressed when I see updates like this!! I cannot wait until I see improvement with my own teeth. I do have a question.... in the last picture...it looks like there is something in the back of your mouth? May I ask.....what is it ? and painful ??? There's no...

Re: Hidden tooth progress!
Nice
At first, it looks like there's not enough room for all teeth, but... they manage to find a way through. Amazing.

Re: I survived adjustment 2.0...
Am I the only one who doesn't take painkillers? I only took them the first day after braces, but even then it wasn't too bad. I've had a lot of adjustments, even though I'm only at 4.5months. My brackets used to snap quite often for the first 2 months or so, and for every visit my ortho would take ...

Re: Damon braces, upper and lower
You're right, it seems to be open in the photo... anyway, it's closed now, don't know what happened there :) About my arch, it's getting harder to overlap my top lip over the brackets now, at-rest... the only time I felt that was when I had a coil spring at front... I'm still amazed on how fast thes...

Re: Second thoughts
Honestly, I though "What the heck, my teeth are crooked, do I really want to live the rest of my life like this (already did for 35y)? Let's just get over with it." Now, 4 months in, I don't regret it for a second. My teeth are getting better everyday, and looking at my mouth filled with b...

Re: Damon braces, upper and lower
Forgot to add a photo. Here goes - 16 weeks and counting! It really feels like my arch has expanded a bit, maybe it's just me. http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/5749/capturareh.jpg Lower teeth are not perfect yet, the ortho said it's time to reposition some brackets... they're not too bad anyway.

Re: Damon braces, upper and lower
I know, I shouldn't be using this thread as diary, but here goes... Had another appointment yesterday (week 16, almost 4 months), and my upper wire was changed... again - it's now .018x0.025 NiTi (previous was 0.014). Not a big difference, but some of my back teeth are a bit more sensible today. It'...

Re: Question About What Ortho said???
I'm not sure, but with one less tooth the arch must "retract" to close the gap. Could that be it?bmueller wrote:I don't quite understand how missing an incisor will give you an overjet.

Re: Damon braces, upper and lower
I'm also surprised, never thought it would be so fast to get those teeth straight - they were my main reason to get braces in the first place, really. But at week 13, progress is a lot slower, no more "easy" teeth to fix. Just widening the arch (bottom mostly), closing my bite (1mm now) an...
