Re: Can someone with metal brackets chew sugarless gum
I haven't had any problems with gum, however I feel like a cow chewing on cud. It feels weird, so I don't. I miss it a bit. Sugarless was the only kind I chewed.

Re: braces and thumbsucking
Time for a thumb crib OP, either that or some cayenne pepper or a band aid? Do those two things actually work for a thumbsucker. My little cousin would suck his thumb and use the other hand to lift his shirt and take the shirt end to rub on his nose.

Re: Bite is crooked and weird after braces?
To pp Id like to see a picture. To op im no expert but I see what the pp posters meant when they said extraction looks like it would help. That would mean starting all over though.

Re: Does anyone actually have traditional metal braces anymo
I have all metal. Originally like the look of both but wanted to go with ceramic. The place I went to only did metal bottom and ceramic top. I was told that ceramic might break more at the bottom that's why they did metal bottoms. There was no way I was going to do half and half, personally I don't ...

Re: Ladies: Do you wear lipstick?
I love makeup and it hasn't stopped me. I made a video talking about this exact thing. I found that stains as well as lip paint are great for braces. If I'm not hydrated and my lips are dry lipstick can look like a big mess.

I just got two lingual brackets and a power chain
Anyone else got two or more brackets and a power chain on the lingual side due to teeth not moving in the right direction? My tongue is pretty bruised
Apparently the molars where going inwards, and not out, and I thought this lingual hook was a pain in the

From the front they look straight, but yea I see what you mean. I don't know where you started with your teeth journey but I would go to the ortho and asks "What gives?"

Pointy things on band, can they be sawed down?
I got three molar bands yesterday, and expecting at least three more possibly( I have four more molars in the back undone.) I was reading that the pointy things on the tongue side of the bands is for easy application and removal. The one on the right tooth isn't as noticeable and can get a pass, but...

Re: I'm going to try the Mickey Mouse Ligs
The flower ones aren't as nice, and a bit busier than Mickey. Maybe thats why I dont like them as much. Maybe i will get use to them. I do think the flower ones would look good on maybe four teeth in a row or placed sparingly.. I dunno. Looking forward to April 5 when I go back.

I didn't buy them yet and my phone isn't letting me copy and paste. You will see a pic of them in google images and YouTube.
