Elastics, OMG OUCH!
I got elastics today!!!! I was really excited since I've only had braces. This was in addition to getting a higher gage wire on top that he bent with some tools to move my teeth in the exact shape he wants, and I have figure 8 accost my entire upper teeth. (see my blog for pictures). I was really e...

Re: buildups and bite ?
Mine are dark blue! I've had them from day one, and they just lowered them a little on Monday. My bite really changed with these. Right my jaw is really out of alignment. After about a week though, they do become more comfortable and you dont notice them as much as time goes on.

Did you have your teeth filed down and filled in?
My teeth right now are finally straight on the bottom for the most part! BUT, because of how my teeth were before, they have worn very unevenly. Anyone else have this problem? How did you fix it?

Re: Filing front teeth
I'm having the black triangle shaved away in between my 2 front teeth during my next appointment, and this way the teeth can come closer together. In addition, I will have my right front tooth shaved down and filled in to make it match the other front tooth. It's very jagged right now because it was...

How do you keep ligs from staining?
Alright, I give up! There must be a way to prevent ligs from turning nasty yellow within a week. I have tried clear, smoke, and now just got obscure. Does everyone with ceramic braces just drink everything with a straw and never bite into anything? If so, I'm willing to try! But even when I chew, so...

Re: Permanent Retainer
Wouldn't your dentist notice your permanent retainer not properly attached during cleanings? As long as you keep going every 6 months I would think that if this were to happen it could be fixed before any real damage occurred.

I noticed changes on the 3rd day I had braces! But bigger changes happen at the 4 week mark.

Re: Permanent Retainer
I'm still very early into my treatment, but I've also wondered about this. I'm supposed to have a permeant retainer bonded to my front teeth in addition to a clear invisline like retainer for night wear. One of the ortho assistants said she used to have the bonded one but had it removed a few years ...

Re: some people just don't understand...
Before my nose job, people said the same thing. I don't want a character nose. I don't want character teeth. I just want to BE a character   Your getting a full makover. :-) Nose job is my next big change. I'm hoping for that by time I'm 35. Lasic done, braces in progress, and next nose j...

Re: Whats the point if I'm going to end up in drenchers anyw
No I was not kidding. My mother in law is in her 50s and she has non of her real teeth, and neither do her brothers or sisters. All my grandparents have dentures too.
But it's nice to know that it could change for me with proper cleaning and care. I thought that's just want happen when you get old.
