hawley versus essex

bracedagain, Thanks for the retainer info; i don't know a hawley from an essex (sounds like different types of trucks or something!). i have a while before my doc will be discussing retainers, but it is interesteting to learn a little up front. Now i have a place to start at least. Good luck with yo...

The color blue

KK,

Thanks for the color play spots. I tried them out and really like the dark blue color.

I'm ready to go for it at the next checkup.

Have a colorful smiley day

Great photos

Weird_Wired,

Your photos are just fantastic! Like your pink ligs. i'm thinking about some color myself, but probably not that bold. It looks like your teeth are moving fine to me. Good luck, keep us posted.

3rd time is the charm

Bracedagain, Enjoyed reading your story! i don't know if i could go through braces three times, but i encourage you to go for it. Mine are first-timers, but i like the results so far. Very few people have asked me about it...i think maybe 80% don't care, 10% think it crazy for old-timers to get them...

New Year Ajustment Woes

01/18/06 - My first visit of the new year for an adjustment and the first time the dull pain following an adjustment has persisted for more than a day. Although the teeth are visably moving, the Doc said it was time to speed things up a bit. I now have nickel titanium (NiTi?) rectanglular wires on t...

thin gums

fins, i heard of the problem with brushing too hard. It's not just for the brace impaired, a braceless mother of a friend of mine is actually going to the dentist next week to have a gum restoration procedure performed...Ouch! it is hard though not to overbrush or over waterpic with braces though. i...

KK,

Eating and brushing are not bad, EXCEPT in public. i always feel like my mouth is chucked full of food particles trapped in wire framing when done eating. Brushing outside the home is still a hassel and kind of embarassing, but i'm gradually getting used to doing it in public.

Have external server, will try!

Caryca,

Thanks for the tip on filing the photos in an external server. I'm not too computer savy, but i'll try it out this weekend and hopefully you'll see the results.

Thanks for the encouragement

Jennielee, Thanks for the encouragement. Appreciate it. So far the pain is not too bad if i don't try to eat anything! The worst part for me is having to clean my teeth at work after eating lunch. There is absolutely no privacy where i work in the mens room. Some days i would rather just not eat ins...

jame's tinsel teeth

08/30/05 - Tuesday - Another 2 hour ordeal to have the lower braces installed. My saliva glands would not quit during the ordeal so the Doctor had a problem gluing on the back teeth wire pads. Had to keep stopping and draining the fluid off; all the time the cheek spreaders were stretching my mouth ...

Mid Life 2

Is there anyone out there that had braces installed after 50? I know this is an adult braces website, but could use some encouragement. I'm 52 and just decided my poor self-image needed a lift. Straightening my teeth may not be the cure-all, but it could help. Luckily my girlfriend feels the same wa...

Mid Life 2

Good for you. I'm 52 and have an appointment to have braces installed the end of this month...I cycle between being excited and being terrified of what people will think. So far I haven't cancelled the appointment yet!
