Mine is functional and appearance. I need to have a implant put in on my front tooth. I need braces to make room for the implant. Braces on there own would have given me a sunken in look on my face so I am also having jaw surgery to correct my overbite.

12 months then I will have my jaw surgery. Then hopefully just 6 months after that.

Hi Spring1onu. Thank you for the welcome.
I have been braced for about 3 weeks.
The first week was awful I could only eat mushy food and my gums really hurt. But now I am used to them and they don't really bother me.

Hi I am going through something similar.
I have a crown on my left front tooth that has a bracket attached. Not sure of the terminology but I have a tooth bonded to the crown that is the shape of a tooth. I do not have a bracket on it though. The wire goes over the top.
