Re: First adjustment agony! is that usual!?
I believe pain is truly subjective but I also agree that if it is hurting as much as you say it does to ask for a thinner wire/slower plan of action. It may slow down your progress but there is no point in being in constant pain. A tip that has help me to try chewing on straws for all your teeth. Th...

Re: Eating with my front teeth......Stupid question but....
I was worry about that and I still avoid using my front teeth as much but that is mainly because I am just avoiding a lot of non brace friendly food. What I have done to make sure I keep my teeth in practice is chew on straws. They are soft enough that I won't feel like I am breaking my teeth but th...

Re: Unusual Tooth Shape?
heehee. I have no kids but my fiance's two molars are like that on both sides. I think they are normal and that they can be found in a minority of people. He never has had issues nor any of his dentists have said anything about them. I notice them only because I was checking out his teeth seeing he ...

Re: Bite turbos wearing down extremely fast...
If you're concern about how quickly it is getting worn down, call your ortho and ask. That is why you're paying the big bucks. It isn't just for the braces and adjustments but the emergency in between visits. Everyone is different and some ppl may not wear their turbos down as quickly so there is no...

Re: Top teeth stick out after getting braces off?
If you're not satisfied, keep insisting that they fix it. Do you have a regular dentist? If so, I would make an appointment with them to see what they have to say. That might help support your point. I am new to braces but I read the older topics and time and again I see people having to redo after ...

Re: 43 years old and 2 months with braces!
Have you tried chewing on the opposite side than the one that the wire broke? I know you have the wire running on both sides but depending on how you are biting down there may be less force you're exerting and less likely to break a wire. Other than, I would recommend asking your dentist/ortho about...

Wow never knew that you could be allergic to your own braces. You learn something new everything day. I just also learn that some people can't do invisialign because they can be allergic too.

Re: What was your primary reason for orthodontic treatment?
I am doing it for my bite and functionality. Ironically, my fiancee loves perfect teeth so I joke that these are his "engagement braces"! :D

Re: Free consult or Pay for consult?
I would go with the orthro or dentist that you are most comfortable with. If you want to pay, I would ask if that amount will be credited to your account if you do get braces with them. Just because you have to pay for a consult doesn't mean they are better than the free consults. Ask about the hist...

Re: Anyone else have a worse bite now during treatment?
That seems to be my conclusion that my bite was that bad that as it is being fixed that I notice it more. I had the sore teeth the first few days but now it is the grinding and not touching part that is a downer. I miss leafy greens and I do get desperate by swallowing food that probably is too big ...

Anyone else have a worse bite now during treatment?
Hello, Newly braced and it has been a month in. Has anyone else have issues with eating due to the fact that their bite is off? I can bite down but not grind because only a few of my molars/premolars touch. Like 1-2 on each side. I am fine but I was just wondering if this will be an issue for the ne...

Re: Sleeping with braces
I do the pufferfish routine every morning too. I am a side sleeper. What I notice is that I clench my teeth and I am now biting new areas of my mouth. That is the part that sucks waking up from the pain of biting new areas. Oh well this will resolve itself sooner or later.
