Re: Adult Palatal Expansion- A 22 year old's story
Hi there! I actually got my braces off a few weeks ago! The expander didn't cause any fuss for me (other than having to readjust my diction), I'm sorry to hear yours is such a bother.. I had it on for a month and it was bonded to my molars so I couldn't take it out to eat or anything. I'm delighted ...

Re: Worried about midline and asymmetry
Well I'm told that only the lower teeth will be moving when I'm getting the gaps closed.. It might just be really difficult not to pull the top around because the lower jaw is really strong. My orthodontist used pretty much just jaw force to pull my eye teeth down..

Re: why i want to sue
Do you think it might be possible to have another orthodontist give you an opinion on the work she's doing? If there's a dental hospital near you it might be possible. I know orthodontists can be sensitive on commenting on other people's work but if you went through a dental hospital I'm sure you co...

Worried about midline and asymmetry
I was wondering if anyone could put my mind at ease.. I've had my braces on for nine months and my teeth are starting to look really straight. However, when I smile straight on, it looks like my teeth sort of slant in one direction. You know, as if they go slightly diagonally rather then straight ac...

Re: Do braces affect growth?
This is a good question but I don't think you need to worry- I'm 23 now and have had my braces on for only 9 months. My jaw actually grew crooked because of an uncorrected crossbite issue. So because I DIDN'T get braces when I was younger, my jaw grew longer on one side and has left me with a slight...

Re: palate expander digging into gums one tooth swollen
My expander went into my gum as well- you could feel it under there but I didn't find it as big a concern as you seem to be. It sounds as if it it's extremely deep? Mine felt like it went a few milimetres into the gum but nothing painful and I don't recall it causing swelling- just a bit of a bump u...

Re: Any instrumentalists?
Sorry I didn't reply sooner- I'm 'Ouchies!'. I forgot the pasword to that account so I just set up a new one! After about three weeks I managed to start rolling my Rs (my lecturer would have freaked out if I didn't!). I moved my tongue further up the palate which took a bit of practice. I haven't ha...

Re: Adult Palatal Expansion- A 22 year old's story
Hi There! I'm 'Ouchies!' who posted this story! Sorry I didn't reply sooner- I forgot the password to that account and I wasn't able to retrieve it! So anyway, my expander came out two months ago and, yes, it worked shockingly well. I don't think you should be scared- my orthodontist explained that ...
