Painful aches in my neck

So life's getting back to normal now; the stitches have pretty much healed, I'm doing all my normal activities, I'm eating solids now. But recently I've had aches in either side of my neck, like on opposite sides of my Adam's apple. At first, I thought it was due to smiling and laughing too much, or...

Re: April/May 2014 surgical buddies..

Yeah I hope she's doing OK. A bit worried about her, but I'm sure she'll came back when she's ready. I'm getting better too; the swelling's gone well down, I'm not taking painkillers anymore and I'm coming off my antibiotics tomorrow. But I'm just a bit up and down with my emotions and dribbling lik...

Re: April/May 2014 surgical buddies..

Hi, just wanted to let you know that were no complications during surgery. But sadly I had to stay in hospital two extra nights than expected. On Thursday when the surgeon planned to send me home, I still wasn't drinking anything and had all my various meds through the iv drip, so I volunteered to s...

Re: April/May 2014 surgical buddies..

Two slices of bread (one with butter, the other; jam) and a glass of milk, delicious! Should keep me going until 7:30 (when I'm due to be admitted) AT LEAST. Getting oddly excited now; the nerves will no doubt set in tomorrow. The only down side about the whole thing is my monthly. Nice timing, uter...

Oh my God, I'm so sorry to hear about your infection. Things must be very uncomfortable/painful for you right now. *hugs*

Re: April/May 2014 surgical buddies..

Not long now!! :) Had my pre-op assessment today, talked some things over with the doctor, got my medical history down. And...(big shocker!) blood test! I've never ever had my bloods done before (no that's a lie, last time I had a test I'd only just been born :P) So it was an experience. It was biza...

Re: April/May 2014 surgical buddies..

Aww I'm sorry to hear that Helen. Hope you can move on to your soft diet soon. Well I went to the drop in clinic at the hospital and it was all sorted in five minutes! I even ate a packet of crackers on the way home. My lip is still sore, but at least it isn't being poked and prodded anymore. Suppos...

Re: April/May 2014 surgical buddies..

Ok, so... I've given it a week and I still can't eat, talk or brush my teeth properly. (Been surviving on a diet of soup and ice cream.) On top of that, I've been having random crying spurts because it is making me feel so down. The ulcer, "George", hasn't healed AT ALL but hasn't got any ...

Ignore them, you look absolutely fine! I agree with bbsadmin, if you're happy with the result, then that's all that matters.

Re: April/May 2014 surgical buddies..

Exactly my thoughts. I've got a massive white ulcer now though. I've named it George, after a little relative of mine who, like my ulcer, causes annoyance and helluva lot of pain (lol). Wednesday was the worst day for the pain; I was a bit tearful and had to take painkillers. It's still painful now,...

Re: April/May 2014 surgical buddies..

My orthodontist put the surgical hooks in my braces today. I'm doing all right so far, my bottom lip just feels very sore. She did give me wax, though, but I'd rather do without it. So trying to cope with all the discomfort.
