I went traditional for the same reasons as many others here. 1. Cost- there was a somewhat substantial difference in price between the traditional and ceramic options. 2. Every treatment plan is different- I went more than two years before getting into elastics. I am in it now and also approaching the end of my plan. I find it annoying, but the pain is not nearly as bad as I thought it might be.

I wish I used more salt water early in my treatment. It really is like heaven's elixir. It helped me to get past horrible molar band pain and it still helps to ease issues with rough cheek contact. I'm still in my braces and not an orthodontist... but I would just try and wear the retainer. I went 27 years with teeth that weren't to my liking. I wouldn't do anything to jeopardize the success of the treatment.

That's some fast progress. I think I had about 6 weeks in between my initial consult and the bonding day.
