KK , I will celebrate my one year on August 2nd. I remember that you were braced about the same time as me from your postings. I can't believe how fast the time has gone! I never ask my ortho about when these things are coming off but I know I am probably half way through my treatment based on the ...

Try using Crest Glide Floss. My teeth were very crowded as well before braces. After I got my molar bands on I couldn't floss for about 2-3 days which drove me nuts! But my teeth did shift and then I could floss just fine. If after a few days you still can't floss I would call the ortho to see if th...

I've been told by a few people I look like I've lost weight ... which I haven't, so I suspect it's either due to my face changing shape a little or that I'm spiking more of my hair ... or maybe a combination of the two! I don't have the spiked hair but I can relate to this comment KK! I've had a lo...

weird_wired,

I have a gold crown too, that's why I have the molar band. I am glad you posted because your response to the bacteria and metal makes sense. Perhaps that is what is going on with me. :o

TheUnk311, I've experienced the same wierd taste after getting one of my molars banded. I just try to really floss a lot around the band and use mouth wash to get rid of the funky taste. I think probably more food is prone to getting "stuck" up there especially since they used spacers to m...

I am a professional wind player (clarinet) and music teacher and honestly I haven't noticed any difference in my playing. The only problem is that the braces can get a little uncomfortable during a long rehearsal but it really isn't bad. I haven't noticed any difference in my ability to play my inst...

Becky, My crown came off this past Monday when my ortho assistant was trying to band my crown. This was because originally my dentist only put some sort of temporary cement due to some issues I was having with the crown. The issues went away but I never in four years had it permanently set. SO needl...
