Re: Getting braces finally at 23!

When I get my braces next month...I will have clear on top and metal on the bottom. Do you choose color of ligatures with the clear braces also ? It depends on whether your braces require ligatures or are self-ligating. If they require ligatures, then you can always choose. Most people choose clear...

Re: Getting braces finally at 23!

I was looking to get braces when I was 23... Wish I had done it sooner, so be glad you'll be done before your quarter century. I swear - your struggles are similar to mine - I am 25 with metal brackets and I look like I'm still in high school! Now it's even worse, haha. Well, be glad that onc...

Re: One month with braces :))

Do you have before pictures? Oh wow, your teeth look quite straight on both arches, particularly from the front!

Re: Braces Virgin No More at 25!

At 9 weeks this Saturday (sorry, lips are very dry!) http://imageshack.us/a/img547/9940/xsh5.jpg I don't see much change since week 6. I'm due for another adjustment this weekend, so we will see what happens after. Been eating quite a bit of carbs lately. Geez, I was so good until maybe 2 weeks ago!...

Re: Braces Envy

I enved all my friends who had them as a kid... BUT most of them didn't wear their retainers, so their teeth are by as perfect as they once were. I know a girl whose teeth have slightly relapsed (her teeth look straight, but her midline is now off and bottom arch slightly crowded again). She also ne...

Re: Braces for the first time at 26

Oh wow, looks like quite a journey in the last 4 months! Your ortho may have some more knowledge on whitening options when you're done with braces. I don't know many people who still have their wisdom teeth. You're fortunate they are growing out (normally?). Mine never ruptured and were under the gu...

Re: Hello board, considering ortho clinical trial!

It's never too late to get braces! Braces are not that much maintenance at all, especially since your out-of-pocket expense is low. Totally ok to eat baby food, if necessary, since it's soft. hehe

Wishing you the best on your new born!

Wow so much progress in 14 months! Your bottom and top arches looks amazing! A belated congrats on your marriage and an improvement in your smile. Hoping to see more. Your clear power chain is practically invisible in the photos

Re: 24 years old and finally getting braces

Hello Lisa! Hmm feels like we are similar in age, petite frame, and only 9 months to straight teeth. Are your brackets metal or the ceramic one?

Improved dental hygiene is always a plus! Hope to see pics soon!

Re: Changes to facial features

I once lost quite a bit of weight due to wisdom teeth extraction, and my facial profile was a bit more defined - slimmer face and more pronounced chin. I normally have a square jawline. However, when I gained my weight back, my face was square again. Now that I have braces, it's almost been two mont...

Re: Just another braces story...

Congratulations! It's been a long journey, but I'm glad it's all been worth it so far. It's never too late to improve your smile. Do you think it would have been possible without extractions? I've read that some people have had complications with extractions. Can't wait to see the before and after p...

Re: My Braces Journey...

Oh wow, the white wire looks practically invisible! You have such nice white teeth :] Glad the pain subsided. I still feel pain, but I'm used to it that it just feels like a slight soreness. However, I like to believe that in this case, it means it's working. I am also scared of biting with my...

Re: Losing to much weight after braces !

Hello, Yes you will lose weight - that is normal. If you're doing a liquid diet, you're most likely expelling that through your urine. How long have you had your braces on? I didn't lose as much weight as you (maybe like, half as much), but I did lose weight fast as well. Try to eat more solid foods...

Re: Braces Virgin No More at 25!

Your teeth remind me a lot of mine. I Just got my braces put on 1 week ago. Our "before" photos are pretty similar. I bet you are going to see great results! I look forward to your updates! Hi Melanie! Thanks, that means you are about a month behind when I first started! :) I hope so as w...

Re: Looking younger

Honestly, racial stereotypes already cause people to perceive me as looking younger than I am. Coupled with braces, my co-worker asked me to deliver something and referred to me as "a student" to another co-worker in a different department. @_@ I'm guilty of thinking I look a lot younger t...
