Re: Traveling and wire started poking - San Diego, then Tuls
I'm in San Diego and go to Dr Asbury at Braces San Diego. He's amazing! He has a La Mesa (East SD) office and a coastal office. Call ahead if you decide to go because they're only open half the week at each place. Good luck!

Re: Braces at 22!
Hi guys, it has been a while! I've been really busy with work and life and things have gotten away quickly! My appointments have been closer together due to the powerchain so maybe that's why I feel like it's been so long! I've had a couple adjustments since I last posted. The picture with the pink ...

Re: Braces at 22!
I had my fourth adjustment yesterday. Same wires I believe, 19 or 18x25. Whatever that means. I had a couple gaps that formed on the bottom since my last adjustment and asked if they could do something about it so they put on a powerchain! It's definitely been sore but it's definitely been tolerable...

Re: Braces at 22!
I have cleanings every 4 months. I'm afraid of ruining my teeth because of my braces but my dentist always says I'm doing well. I have my wires removed every time. I feel like they get a better clean that way. It doesn't hurt either, unless she scrapes off some glue. That doesn't hurt, it's just a l...

Re: Worried spots
Yes I am using whitening toothpaste still crest vivid white. The only reason I've heard they say not to is so you don't have squares from under your brackets not being "whitened" . My ortho never said I couldn't though and neither did my dentist. It doesn't even whiten that much. I feel li...

Re: Worried spots
I've noticed the same along the edge of my teeth. I'm in 8 months practically and have been using whitening toothpaste as well. My dentist says my teeth are doing good even after I brought it up to him so I'm sure it will be alright....hopefully!! Good luck and congrats!

Re: How do I explain braces to my children?
I work as a Nanny and the kids weren't phased. They're 8, 6, and 18months x2. The babies actually noticed. They were just barely a year old and to this day still try to take them off my teeth and laugh when I show them. The 8 year old talked about having to get braces for herself and I never heard a...

broken bracket
I broke off a bracket around Christmas, not sure which day but noticed it the 26th and called me ortho that night and left a message. It's the second to last molar and has a tube on the bracket so I can't just remove it. It's luckily not bothering me much but I want to get in to have it fixed as I'm...

I would go to an ortho closest to where you are the majority of the time?

Re: non invasive solution possible?
I don't think you need to lose weight...I have cheeks and can't afford to lose any weight. I have seen my cheeks 'pick up' within the past seven months of having braces. I have Damon's and they advertise as a 'brace lift'. I wouldn't go for them just for that reason solely as it is just advertising ...

Re: Braces at 22!
Seven month/3rd adjustment update: I had my third adjustment almost two weeks ago and am at 7 months today! Time has flown by! I'm making lots of progress but thing have definitely started slowing down. At my last adjustment I had two brackets repositioned on my 2nd and 4th teeth on my top right sid...

Re: Uneven front teeth
I just got two brackets repositioned about two weeks ago at my last adjustment, they are a front tooth and a pre molar, on both sides of a canine. All three of those teeth are moving and looking worse than they did before. I trust my ortho and nothing is irreversible, obviously the point of braces i...

Re: Clashing Brackets
I second calling and getting in. You can chip your teeth on the brackets. I don't think you want that happening....I have molar build ups for that exact reason. Trust me, it will be a lot better than constantly hurting your teeth or jaw from keeping your mouth in a weird position. Good luck!!

Re: Braces at 22!
Thanks so much for the reassurance guys. I should just be grateful I have teeth I suppose ;) Anna, I have a major crossbite, if you can see the photos first posted or even the "before" photo (the top one) the whole left side looking at the picture, (my right side) curves inwards instead of...

Re: How aware are you of your braces?
I'm probably in the minority but I almost never think of my braces. I'm aware when I'm eating and brushing/flossing but other than that, I totally forget they are there.
My pain has been very minimal luckily though so maybe that's why. I'm six months into my 24 month treatment.
