Elastics - Metal Buttons

Hi guys! I completed my invisalign treatment, but need to wear elastics for a couple weeks (I hope that is all!) My ortho attached these metal buttons on the inside of 2 of my top teeth for the elastic to hook on. I'm not sure what linguals feel like, but assuming maybe it is similar?? All I know is...

I posted something about elastics in Post Invisalign.

I am going to have attachments put on the inside of my upper teeth and attachments on my retainer on the bottom.

No one responded - not sure if it's because my post was unclear, or if nobody has been in my situation. Anyways, I went to the ortho and he said that I am going to have elastics. He told me thought all along I would need them, in order to keep the teeth fully in place. There will be a hook attached ...

Post Invisalign

I haven't posted here in a while - finished my treatment in August. Got wires on top and bottom plus an invisalign like retainer for the bottom and a plate for the top. The plate basically fits perfectly in the roof of your mouth. I think that a tooth on the top (that is not being held by the wire) ...

I simply used listerine or toothpaste most of the time. Toothpaste does in fact make them less clear, and also less noticeable! They blend in with your teeth better after a few cleanings and appear less shiny.

Invisalign is not for everyone - just like regular braces. You are being so harsh! To each his own - do not suade others just b/c you had a horrible experience.

A lot of people have problems with taking the aligners off the first couple times. It is definitely weird and tricky at first. You should try and take your index finger and push it to the farthest tooth - grip the top of the aligner with your nail and pry it off. Sometimes u might have to do both si...

I was shown how to floss, but I really do not like the threader thing b/c it is too thick for my teeth, but I can't get superfloss through.

I hate this flossing! I just finished my invisalign treatment and now have perma wires on the top and bottom. My teeth have always been quite close together and I can't get the oral B superfloss through some of my teeth. I hate the feeling of the threader thing and i can get that through - but once ...

Positive Invisalign Experience

I've posted in the past a little bit here and there but this is my complete story. As a child, I never got braces because my teeth were more or less perfect. I got various opinions and all said that it was not worthwhile to get them. My jaw is quite narrow and the only thing they recommended was jaw...

What do you mean by a fixed brace? Are you referring to a fixed retainer?

If you are at all worried, voice your concerns to your ortho. Usually orthos will throw in braces for free after invisalign, but you better check just to make sure.

You are not alone!! I was so scared when my ortho did my filing - especially between my front bottom two teeth. I nearly died when I saw the space and couldn't wait for it to close - which it eventually did. Orthos are very careful and follow the procedures, but it is definitely scary as filing thos...

Invisalign does NOT offer the same results as braces. If you do not care about the appearance of normal braces and want your teeth absolutely perfect, then I would go with regular braces. Many people have had successful cases with invisalign (myself included) but many have had problems. I was willin...
