Well I DO know how you feel---it's a terrible feeling that was even beginning to affect my mental health. I had the Forsus appliance. I see what everyone is saying , but ortho is a bit aggressive and he doesn't really take no for an answer. This is m y first day with lower braces and its not as bad as having that dang rpe. No pain yet. In two weeks they will be putting on elastics and putting a new rpe in.does anyone know how I can floss with the braces and lower lingual arch?

I'm having a MRI on Monday of my stomach , but I have a lower lingual arch and I will be getting bottom braces on tomorrow. Will I still be able to get the MRI with all that in my mouth? i dont have actual braces yet but i have a lower lingual arch and a palatal expander. i lost about ten lbs within the first week because i couldn't eat . after two months i am able to eat , but i'm not gaining or losing .

for me molar pain is worst because i can't eat. right now my upper molars are really sensitive because of the bands from my rpe appliance. it's hard to eat a hamburger with your front teeth . lol

I had the rpe out for about 15 minutes for a cleaning. The cleaning sucked but it was the best 15 minutes of my life. I almost cried when he put it back in. Then he further burst my bubble when he said I may have to wear this for a year instead if six months.
