Re: June/July Surgery Buddies
Fortunately, the diarrhea has stopped. I am down to about 135lbs. Yesterday, I was rear ended and my jaw immediately in pain. I went to my doctor after the accident and they took x-rays. Fortunately, nothing moved but the side of my face is sore along with my neck and back. While there, he noticed a...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies
I can open my mouth more than 2 fingers now. The exercises aren't too bad. Did anyone suffer from diarrhea? I have been going through periods of diarrhea and it affects me more than the surgery. I'm assuming it is diet. It's not helping me with gaining weight either.

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies
Today I went to the oral surgeon for my 3 post op visit. The visits last usually around 5 mins. This time, he just looked at me and said I was doing well and he will release me to the orthodontist after my next visit (Sept. 1). Last week he had me start doing jaw exercises. Open jaw for 10 secs for ...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies
It has been 8 days since my lower jaw surgery and I am already back on soft foods. I went to the doctor this past Tuesday and he removed the elastic bands and said I can eat anything soft. The swelling was the worst on the 3rd day as predicted. There is some bruising on my neck. I am kind of annoyed...

Re: June/July Surgery Buddies
I just noticed this particular thread and want to say Hello. I just had my lower jaw surgery yesterday. I am no in any pain and it has been straight forward. The worst part is that I wasn't able to urinate and they used a catheter and it was so painful. They wouldn't let me leave today until I urina...

Re: Health Insurance Coverage
Thanks for the update. My employer switched insurance carriers this year, so now I am with BCBS. I recently made an appointment with the oral surgeon and will proceed from there.

I have a class 3 cross bite. I am in my early 30's. Besides not being able to open my mouth very wide and the occasional popping, I have learned to live with it. However, it seems to be getting worse. I wore braces in my early teens for 5 years. When I was around 23-24, I went to about 9-10 orthodon...
