Re: wires digging in lower back jaw...
Not sure how long the wire is, but can you bend the ends inward(towards the tongue) instead of trying to cut them yourself? My Ortho actually did that to my upper wire today and they are not poking at all. The wire I'm in is still thin but I now have a power chain to start closing my spaces and it's...

Timetoshine, I don't have any pics posted, haven't built the courage to do that yet. But thank you for sharing yours, very encouraging.

Re: lisping with bite turbos?
Safetysquirrel just saw this post. Not quite sure but I wonder if it has to do with the position of the teeth to begin with. Since I have a slight overbite my teeth sit out further so my tongue has never been obstructed by my teeth. When I pronounce s's I'm not hindered by the turbo bite at all.

I must be extra special as my top left molars stick out over the bottom molars and the top right molars sit inside the bottom molars.

Re: Unable to eat
Safetysquirrel I'm actually not lisping, I think I stumble on some words in conversation because of the brackets more than the turbo bite. Its just annoying and my tongue is never at full rest. Saw my Ortho today and found out I will have it for at least 8 months. He said because of my bite, it keep...

He doesn't seem to be having any problems and it's been almost 4yrs since having it done. His teeth were only shaped along the bottom, he didn't need to have them narrowed as he had extractions.

Re: Have you changed the size and/or shape of your teeth?
I'm far from getting my braces off but I've noticed my two front teeth are not shaped the same at the bottom. My younger brother got braces in his mid 20's and had his teeth shaped when his braces came off and he has a beautiful smile, he also had massive crowding and barely smiled growing up. I fee...

Re: Unable to eat
New to the braced world as well. Eating is slow as I have a bite turbo behind my front tooth. I can only chew, although barely, with my back right molars. I'm surprised I don't choke more as I feel I swallow more food than I chew :(

Re: What is your favorite brace food?
I'm a month now in braces and eating has gotten much better. First couple of weeks it was too much work as I have a bite turbo/plate? behind my front tooth. I eat a lot of pasta, baked potatoes, soup and fish. Not a big steak eater so I don't miss that but I'll miss eating a good burger without havi...
