Re: Sharp braces + Retainer, WTF? I like french kissing.
Hi all, I'm new here and hope I'm posting in the right place. I recently got clear ceramic braces put on and I have a few concerns so I thought I would join this forum and share my story in hope that some of you may be able to shed some light on a few things if you've had similar treatment. First I...

Re: Can ceramic braces be re glued (rebonded) if they fall o
To remove any glue stuck to a bracket, you would have to use the instrument/drill(?) thing to scrape it off, it might damage the bracket and since it is ceramic, it is probably best to just use a new one. I can't imagine they cost a lot...what would they charge you? Also, I think when brackets come...

Re: Can ceramic braces be re glued (rebonded) if they fall o
Lol, Elmer's, super glue? You guys are funny xD My treatment doesn't cover accidents, they don't do that here in Costa Rica. I had to pay extra for the cerimics, my impressions, a bite plane, and will have to pay for retainers at the end of treatment. When you add it all up it's only about 1k less t...

Re: Can ceramic braces be re glued (rebonded) if they fall o
It would depend on if the bracket actually breaks into pieces. I had one come loose, it was still intact, so they just re-bonded it. Yea if it were to break into pieces that would make sense to me but she said that a bracket has to be replaced if it simply falls off because she can't remove the glu...

Re: Positive side effects of braces?
Hello. I discovered a positive side effect of my braces, and I am actually a little sad that when they come off, this will go too. My bottom lip has always been much larger than my top. For once, both of my lips look to be the same size, and the pouty mouth makes me look younger. So when people ask...

Re: Starting to notice everyone's teeth!
Lol, I've also been very observant of others. It's surprising to me how many other people have braces too and I never noticed it before. This weekend alone at the club I saw at least 10 people with braces, it was starting to feel like a new fashion trend or something haha. I also noticed some people...

Re: just got my impressions!
Congratulations, that's exciting!!! I felt the same when I went in for my impressions and couldn't wait for my bonding appointment a week later. The molar build ups most likely depend on where your teeth need to be raised so that your bite doesn't close and touch with the upper arch. It's probably n...

Can ceramic braces be re glued (rebonded) if they fall off?
Hi all, This seems like an ironic question but can ceramic braces be re glued (rebonded) if they fall off? The assistant at my Ortho's office says that if I break one off they will have to replace it with a new one because the glue or cement doesn't come off like it does with metal brackets so it ca...

Does anyone know why ligs are tied differently?
I've noticed from pictures online that some times the ligs are put on like in crisscross, kind of like a figure eight. Other pics show they just wrap the bracket from each of the 4 corners creating like a square (that's how mine are). And I've also seen some tied from only 2 corners from opposite en...

Re: Sharp braces + Retainer, WTF? I like french kissing.
[quote="Smiley1"]Thanks bmueller :) Still wondering if they will smooth out the edges on ceramic brackets. I've been searching online and haven't found anything that says it's possible or not. I have to go in to pick up my retainer in 2 hours, I called and they let me schedule an appointme...

Re: Preparing to get Braces! - almost 30.
You should ask if the molar bands are absolutely necessary for your treatment. If not then you won't need separators which I also hear are painful. I got my top ceramic braces put on so far but no bands. Instead I have brackets on by back molars with the a loop for the wire so I didn't need separato...

Re: Being a bridesmaid with braces
I don't you need to ask the bride, she has enough things on her mind but if it was me I would definitely go with what ever is least noticeable like white or gray. Hope it helps, good luck, and have fun at the wedding. Maybe you'll meet someone ;)
