wedding day
Congrats. on both your engagement and your courage to finally have the braces. What does your fiance say? I am also getting married and will still have the braces. I NEVER smiled before them and my teeth already look better with them than without. I am planning to smile at my wedding and have an &qu...

adjustment times
Hi everyone... Thanls to the support of my fiance, I have now had my braces on for two months. I teach eighth-grade, so I had to go to school looking like one of my students with a mouth full of metal! My fiance and I will be married in the summer and I will still have them on; ugh... Anyway, the on...

hooks and elastics
I have ceramic uppers (on 4 crowns no less) and metal lowers. So far, so good. The metal lowers ALL have hooks on them. My bottoms are a bit crowded and I currently have two spacers. I am just wondering HOW and WHERE the elastics are going to go??? My otho never even mentioned it in my "finding...

bottom hooks/buttoms
Thank you for this site!!! It has been wonderful. I got top ceramic braces and lower metal braces yesterday and so far, so good. My only question is: "What are the button/hook things on the metal bottoms?" I don't have them with the ceramic. They are utterly annoying and I don't seem to no...

Wow! I read your story and it so resembled mine that it is eerie. I, too, wanted a "quick fix" and had crowns done on my four front teeth. I now absolutely HATE the crowns (two big ones that overhand and two small side ones) and am getting braces on Monday. They said that my crowns will mo...

paying monthly or all at once
I still haven't decided what to do....
I go in a week from today and am uncertain if I should pay the 5K all at once or monthly. The rub is that if I have to stop treatment for some reason (such as my many crowns), would I receive anything back if I paid in one lump sum???

After so many years of hating my teeth and crowns, I am going in for my braces on December 5. Ceramic on top and metal on bottom. Thank you for the website; it has been extremely helpful.
Wish me luck! I have so much other dental work--crowns, bridges

thanks
for the advice and encouragement. I find that my teeth have shifted out even more. My biggest fear is that I won't be able to close my lips when they finally go on!!! They said it was Class 2 overbite. I am getting ceramic uppers and metal lowers.

braCES ON front crowns--2 with root canals
I am a newbie and initially posted under the Doc section After being bulimic for much of my adult like, I basically had to have my four front teeth crowned--two having had root canals from an accident. Although they were a bit big--to cover a gap, and long--hence an overjet, I was fairly content for...

Thanks for the reassurance. I am sooooooooo unhappy with my crowns. The biggest problem is that I have (for 30 years) sucked my thumb! I know, it is embarrassing but I have to be honest. I ended up with the crowns because of bulimia. There isn't a heck of a lot of tooth under there to begin with BUT...

braces on crowns
Could someone please share any experiences you have had with having braces on your crowns? I have NEVER been happy with my four front crowns and am going to have braces on them soon. The ortho. doesn't think it is "such a big deal" but I am a bit scared of the whole experiences as I have v...

Great news; but unrealistic?
At 34, I have become increasingly upset with the condition of my teeth. I have two sets of fixed bridges and a few molar crowns. My biggest complaint, however, is that my two front crowns are so wide (to cover a gap and to somewhat cover a 4mm overjet) while the 2 side ones (also crowned) are--obvio...
