Re: Jaw surgury/tooth extraction? Incompetent lips 4mm overj

Be careful with orthos, push for a recommendation to a surgeon. Look into Le Fort, if your face is long

Palate expansion is preferable to extractions

Do you have an open bite or gummy smile? Is it just that you can't close your lips?

Re: lipo/buccal fat removal before upper jaw surgery?

I also suggest that you wait. I want buccal fat reduction too but I'm waiting til after my BSSO

I've had neck lipo already and the recovery isn't as easy as you might think and will make recovery from jaw surgery that bit worse

Re: Can anyone help, UK Surgeons?

I have a consult this Friday with Paul Johnson in Guildford. He is supposed to be good, will let you know how it goes.

There's also Mommaerts in Belgium

Re: New Member. jaw surgury v tooth extration.

Your profile looks fine to me. I can't see any lower jaw recession. It looks like you might have a long face but really I can't tell, could be the angle - but it often goes hand in hand with mouth breathing. 4mm of overjet, however, is not a lot. I guess you're considering a Le Fort 1? NHS tend to o...

Re: SARPE versus Wilckodontics

I would definitely go with Wilckodontics if it would give you the required result - much easier surgery and recovery. $13.5k for the surgery though - ouch, that's a LOT. Would have expected it to be $8-11k. Myself I'm tossing up between wilckodontics, segmental supapical osteotomy and a le fort 1 on...

deep bite - BSSO vs crowns vs segmental osteotomy vs ortho?

Hi all! So, my story. My lower face/mandible is pretty underdeveloped both vertically (ramus) and horizontally (mandibular body) (i.e.retrognathia and microgenia). This is mainly genetic as I have the same face shape as my father (ie round and IMO very unattractive) I had my original braces on the N...
