I've found this discussion so helpful. I'm 35 and might be getting my first braces to encourage my top teeth to move forward as they are pushed backward instead. I have never known any adults with braces, so it helps to know I'm not alone.

Hi, my dentist told me today that I have TMJ and that's why my mouth won't open all the way and I have headaches. He also said my upper teeth are all pushed back and before we can address the TMJ, my teeth will need to be pushed forward. He didn't discuss how he plans to do that. I'm assuming braces...
