Be the judge if you think my tooth was pushed back (PICS)
backstory: the tooth that I'm concerned about has gotten pulled down, so my ortho says the appearance of it looking like that is because it's been pulled down. He's also telling me that the tooth is just thicker so he suggested they buff it out from behind, which I am against. I'm not staring at my ...

Re: worried about pulling teeth down with braces
my gums haven't been even from the beginning. that's why I'm getting gingivectomy done.Nozzelnut wrote:How do your gums look? If those are even; I wouldn't worry too much about the half mm.

worried about pulling teeth down with braces
now that I'm 99% complete with braces, I wanted to have one of my lateral teeth be brought down because the edge was too crooked...so that when it came down, they can shave the edge so the tooth can look straight and not at an angle. well...they brought down the tooth more than I wanted and I'm fine...

Making my own decision to take off braces.
I've had braces on for 2 years now, I was supposed to get them off a couple months ago but I've kept them on mainly because I've addressed my concern of having a slight slant in my smile. And the only thing that makes it look that way is one canine and is way shorter than the other. Attempts have be...

Re: Braces Adjustment - no pain?
Pain failing to show up, means that the adjustment was not done properly? How long does it take to realize that?

Braces Adjustment - no pain?
Yesterday I got a small adjustment in my upper right canine, the orthodontist made a bend in the wire to bring it down a bit more. I have had this type of adjustment done before (bringing a tooth more down or up) and after every time, I have experienced soreness along with fast noticeable result. At...

Re: Gum surgery before or after taking off braces?
I was wondering this too!! I have ONE tooth I need a gingivectomy on and would like it to be done and healed before retainer impressions! I'm jealous of your pending "deband check" :( I want mine off soo bad!! I hope someone answers our question! After researching online about this topic,...

Gum surgery before or after taking off braces?
I'm scheduled for a gingivectomy on April 15th, it's a laser gum lift/contouring procedure. I still have my braces on, and I have an appointment on thursday (04/5) at the ortho which will be a quick "de-band check" so the ortho will determine wether or not I'm ready to have my braces taken...

Re: Newbie with rubberbands= pain!!!
I don't remember when exactly I started noticing a difference in my smile, but it was definitely not after 2 months. Everyone's teeth move differently, some move at a faster or slower pace. However when you actually do start to notice that difference, it is a great feeling :D as for rubber bands, ev...

Are rubber bands still working if they don't hurt?
I've been in rubber bands 24/7 for about a week now. Before I wasn't so good about wearing them 24/7, but now since I have six weeks left to wear them until I get my braces off, I'm wearing them religiously. I'm wearing posterior boxes. Now when I wear them I don't feel any discomfort, so I'm assumi...

Do rubber bands fix a canted smile?
My orthodontist recommended I wear rubber bands for 6 weeks so that it can level my smile and hopefully fix the canted smile. the way I'm wearing them is in box shapes on both sides of my mouth. my ortho place is run by two orthodontists so one is telling me that my canted smile is because of my jaw...

Getting frustrated with my ortho + rubber bands. need advice
Next month (march) will be 2 years that I've had on braces, they're originally planned to be taken off next month. However that's not what seems to be happening since my orthodontist is basically incompetent to fix one simple thing...and that's my arch. I can't post a picture because I haven't poste...

Re: First adjustment Qs.
Usually for me, I would have new wires put in...they would put in a thicker wire either top or bottom or both. I wouldn't believe that they take progress pics after each visit. If you do a progress review where you sit down with the ortho to discuss your progress (upon your request) they take pictur...
